Title: Mitsubishi L200
Post by: terrymaloy on August 17, 2010, 06:17:15 pm
Hello,
Was just wondering if anybody uses or has used the Mitsubishi L200 as transport for your carpet cleaning gear ?
I have a Peugeot Partner van at the mo, but the limited seats is an issue (only 2 )

Quite like the idea of the double cab up front with all the space at the back.
Got my eye on an L200 Animal

Look forward to any replies.

I used a Navara a few years ago, I would get a VW t5 and spend 1500 getting proper rear seats and a window fitted , for fuel economy and depreciation reasons.

Bought an L200 Warrior a couple of years ago for the wife/family car and as a back up if the van broke down.
It was suprisingly limited in space in the load area, the truckman top was not water tight, the load area is very high off the ground, lifting gear in and out on a daily basis would of been a real pain, also having to reach in to the back of the load area acros the dropped down tailgate was a pain. Very hard suspension, poor rear seat space, fuel comsumption wasn't brilliant, glad I never had to use it much for work. We no longer own said vehicle.
Jason's suggestion of a VW T5 with rear seats is a better option in my opinion.

I have had both the old version and the new  wouldnt say either were suitable for a cc business imo.   the steering lock is shocking on the older version the newer model is a top vehicle

Why not look at those ex AA vans that have just come on the market, load/work space in the back, windows and seats half way so you can get the sprogs and wife in them.

Mate of mine bought one ex fleet, brilliant bit of kit, cab heater etc etc. Clean, tidy and had been looked after, high mileage but full service history.
