how long would it have took
if less than 3-4 hours wouldnt be so bad
-
prob about 3 - 4 then half an hour traveling to and half hour from, for me, just the way they came back and said we would only pay 85 for what is a minging job
doesnt matter any way women phoned me and we have agree on 85 cash on the day she is happy with it, so am i

A good run firm with employees on £6.00 per hour would do that for £60/£80 quid and still make a few bob no problem. Clean windows at a good price for the savvy manager/owner is the done thing in commercial. He wont mourn the loss of your services.
-
it will only be minging the first time I bet you get that down to 2hrs £85 not a bad price I would have done it for less
-
if this was going to be a regular clean you should have said ok , if only a1 off youve done the right thing by putting in a decent price .
WOULD ANY OTHER TRADE HAVE BEEN TOLD THE MANAGER WILL ONLY PAY A CERTAIN AMOUNT .
dont think so .
-
i charge the same for commercial as i do domestic £1 a window, have worked it it will be about 68p a window, whch might not sound bad, but it will cost me £10 in fuel alone,

i agree, we seem to get looked down on as a wc, but why should we earn less for commerical than we do on domestic as it is still glass
the thing is in this business, someone will always undercut you,

your missing the point when you park up for a commercial you will not need to move the van for at least two hours and you will do it a lot quicker and only have to deal with one customer instead of 5, 8 or 10 or more to make the same money, and any weather work, well almost any weather work is a bonus

ur right stu, will get first clean out of the way and see how it goes from there, i have had jobs that i thought would of been easy and been a pain and end up doing for less than it should and also the other way around
-
See i have been trying to figure out what or how i would charge etc and i think i would have charged around the £124 mark also darren.
Although i have not done any paid work yet i am continually looking at houses and thinking got my self what would i charge for that.
I have had a couple say to me so what do you charge then? my response is usually it depends on the windows access etc.
I am finding it hard to price things up, my grans house has about 12 windows average size and a cony that has about 4 big windows say about 2 meters long and her cleaner does it all for 14.
I think i would have priced at more like 18-20 am i over pricing? just want to try and get it right and not short change my self but then also do not want to lose business because i price to high.
-
i have prob lost 5 jobs on price 1 i know i was never in the running for, the others wanting work done for £3
i price £1 a window and nothing for doors, cons i look at and some times charge £3 or £5 etc depends on the size
-
So you would charge £3 or £5 for whole cony?
Do you charge for frames or you include them also?
-
3 or 5 etc was an example ie a front porch might be 3 or 5 dependsing on the rest of house say a con 3 panels by 6 by 3 would be something like 8 or 10 i always include frames in my prices
-
my grans cony is very similar to this
