Post by: 24-7 S C Services on September 11, 2005, 07:58:10 pm

Hi Davindo

The hose reel leaks from severl places (design fault), it also takes 10 minuets to wind itself up, this is because it uses the water pressure passing through it to wind up. Overall, just not suitable for being mounted in a van or for wfp use. It would be alright in your garden for watering flowers

Hi Graham,

Yes, it is Mustafa's hose i am on about, he picked it whilst we where getting his wood from B&Q, it sounded good, however, we fitted his van up yesterday and when testing the setup today, the hose reel is the only thing that let us down.

We have now placed a direct point for the hose on the front panel.

I have two 25 meter retracta reels on side one spring broke due to continues reeling in £200 for new one.I then have two 50m reels in back.Im thinking of purchasing a 100m reel and getting someone to fit a small motor to it to be able to wind it back in like a winch on recovery vehicles

Has anyone thought of getting one of them new flat hose reels? I saw one for the 1st time yestarday and it looked really easy to reel in & out. The water was also flowing at a good pressure.

The problem with flat hoses are that when trying to wind back onto reel they have to be flat without twists ect otherwise they are a pain

I've got one some were if you want it had it for about six years used twice too much hassle.
