Good set up you have there.

Just one question though. How come the tank is on the near side of the van ? Shouldn't the weight be evenly spread

what did he do then  ;)

a 15 year old kid made a 4 wheel trolly system which was a bit bulky but a brilliant effort for a 15 year old and asked if it was worth anything and he absolutely slated the poor kid saying it was the worse trolley system he had ever seen.

he slated a couple of the guys who said they did some gardening work to suppliment their w/c and because customers asked them to,  he slated them for not just doing w/c  and yet look at his website and what he does.

he slated adders who also is a member here and a really nice bloke for his WFP set up  and yet look at the state of his own.

he loved to brag about earning 70 odd thousand a year and have 3 vans  and yet all we seen was that load of old tat on u-tube

to name but a few things,

get the tank in the centre of the van , it will be easyer to drive it when loaded with water.
if you want you could get 500 ltr tank in that van

Managed to get the video to run, but without being rude, I can't understand why you have filmed the inside of your van and sent it to youtube  :-\  There's nothing special about the system you have in fact it's at the very bottom end of the Brodex range and it's not been installed with any great thought to either vehicle loading or ergonomics.

"Reach & Wash" is a copyrighted name belonging to Ionics, illegal use of the phrase can result in prosecution, I know Ionics are very hot on this and do follow up first warnings with legal action, I'd be careful what you are branding yourself as.

i think his set up looks ok apart from tank not central and too small for a van that size.too many poles if he works on his own!diy light ladders on the right of his roof rack(trade ladders best IMO!)

brodex brushes are not the best either..................................apart from that..........its great!!! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

his commentary needs a bit more work.him sayin "ok?"every other word is just irritating and as for him going on a about his hose tap at the end as if its something really revolutionary is laughable!!

What an odd set up.
Enough gear for a small team to work but only enough water to last one man till lunchtime.

Leights,

How often do you find you are changing your DI resin to keep your water TDS at 000ppm ?  and what size is your DI vessel ?

Cheers
Title: Re: Hi everyone, what you all think of this setup
Post by: dazmond on August 13, 2010, 11:23:00 am
matthew his di vessel is 11L(he said 11inch on the vid but he meant to say 11 LITRE!).i have a monster 25L DI and im hoping it lasts 5-6 months(35-70tds coming out of my tap and use about 1000-1200L a week)

The payload is 500 kg as I used to have the same van about 6 years ago,I am really suprised at Brodex fitting it to one side or did he fit it himself, surely that is dangerous,I'm not a clever cloggs or anything but have a bit of common sense.I think the Brodex systems and poles are good as a mate has the system but the brushes are total rubbish, when I got my alloy hydra poles I changed the inner tubing and brush heads.
Title: Re: Hi everyone, what you all think of this setup

Slash,

What brushes are you using now?
Title: Re: Hi everyone, what you all think of this setup

It aint that bad guys? Some of you need to chill right out!

Why are you being snobby to a brodex system? They aint cheap, i really like them to be honest, very well designed.

Yeh you got ALOT of poles dude, why, i have 18ft one i use all day long and a suplite. Dont need all them to be honest but handy to have i suppose for different jobs.

@ Jack, 250 is ample for one man, and as he said in video, he can fill up at customers if needed. I have a 400l in mine and i did my best day ever yesterday and still had about 100 litres left!

Give him a break, thanks for uploading video and sharing with us.  ;)
Title: Re: Hi everyone, what you all think of this setup
Post by: leights on August 13, 2010, 06:47:50 pm
thanks all for the comments, il take on board SOME.

the tank is on the side and does not effect the driving or suspension and is fixed by myself not brodex.
it is a 11 lt not inch my fault, shoot me, lol.

it lasts for 4 hours then i have to refill, i change my resin every 8 weeks when it goes to around 3 or 4 tops, hey it does me i have 2 vans not 3 like i have said now twice and both fitted out with 250 di's, makes me a good living so why do i need state of the art???? 8) 8)
Title: Re: Hi everyone, what you all think of this setup
Post by: leights on August 13, 2010, 06:51:24 pm
as for the poles i only have 3, one 26 ft one 18 and one 12, the other 2 are for gutter cleaning as i dont wreck my window poles on the gutters unlike some window cleaners. haha, the 2 poles on the side are just ext poles for washers and squegges for the odd windows on my round which are high but to low for ladders, id call it planning ahead my self.
thanks anyway for the bad advice from some ??? ::)

Leights, I can see your reasoning behind seperate poles for dirty work, it makes good sense. I do the same just dont carry them all the time to cut down weight.
How do you manage with such a small tank? dont you find 250 runs out fairly quick? or do you fill up twice a day?
Title: Re: Hi everyone, what you all think of this setup
Post by: mci services on August 13, 2010, 07:15:52 pm
I managed just fine with a 250l tank for year or so and sometimes just refilled at lunch time, it was not problem being di only

I have a Brodex 250L DI and Brodex poles and brushes.  The system, poles and brushes have been fine (apart from one pole I find too heavy) and I do what Stu-Mac did, refill at lunch.  Brodex fitted mine in the centre as you'd expect, it also allows me to use the side door to change the resin. ;D

I think that a 250L set up is rather small for a serious window cleaner who would like the option of working a full day without refilling.

I agree that's why I sold my tank and upgraded to a 400 litre. but it did ok for a while and I was still doing a lot trad because I was a fool

First of all well done for adding a video for others to view must people of here dont do anything like that. Have to say that the vid is very very slow loading and I use a 50meg internet connection.

quick read your going to have to take it on the chin about the mispelling of facia, have that looked at fella as it is wrong ;D :P

I dont have a clue what happened on the other forums, but reading it doesnt matter, this is the lions den  :-X (nice one)

Have a good day, and post sopme more vids.

I would recommend getting lighter brushes on the longer pole duel trim flocked from gardiners is a good one not a bad price either.

Expect ribbing on here as it is awash with it, all adds to the fun.

Its 'big' friendly giant Leights, not 'bid' friendly giant. But yeah, summats up with that 'facias' thing on your van, i thought 'facias' was some sort of latin/legal term? Great setup though mate and its good to see someone making a go of it. There are some right delboys on heree as you say, not me though i'm one of the decent ones who knows who i am !!!

sorry dude but would your prefer I tell you your a great bloke and stroke your ego ?

me thinks not as I remember you from windows tools and how you treated everyone on there thinking you were the professional one on there but was soon found wanting.

and unless you have an Ionics system fitted me thinks you better get rid of the reach and wash logo and the Ionic video off your website other I will tell them.

BIG NOT SO FRIENDLY GIANT

after all I'm not have an Ionics system fitted for someone without one to use their logo's to gain work,

apart from that have a great weekend dude.

From the viewpoint of a normal forum user I'm dismayed at the lynch mob mentality of some of you on here, you accuse him of slating others by instantly doing the same thing to him.

As a moderator, if I see any more hounding of him for what he's allegedly done on Peters forum I'll remove the replies....especially as they have nothing to do with the topic.

What we do elsewhere on the internet is of no regard to what we do on here, how we behave and comport ourselves on here is all that counts.

Further replies not on-topic will be removed.

I have stopped using this site as much as I did, as it seems thats all anyone does on here now, Bitch at each other and nit pick on the tiniest things, very boring and unhelpful. If its not bitching at another member or their brush/ homemade or bought poles, vans, set ups, etc. Its bitching at the actual forum and/or moderators AND if you dare utter the word Ionics then be prepared for the onslaught!!!

chopsie, jackal and ian, cheers guys for the replys, i was starting to think this forum is all about nit picking now windowcleaning ect., makes me laugh, all this ionics ionics ionics bumf, i tell you what, lol.
yes i know all about the rules and trad marking ect, but BFG you dont know what i got, what i have had,  and what im getting, and if i have had Patrick fromionics in my nice little pad drinking black coffe with 2 sugars hint hint hint hint hint, penny dropped yet, thought not!!

Iv been slated on here for, to put it blank,  my cousin was working for me and i sacked him, he knew i had wanted to join a forum and has gone on to another one and started stiring and god knows what else.

YOU KNOW THE SAYING THE MORE YOU STIR SH@T THE MORE IT SMELLS!

I have big balls and can take it on the chin, actually its really a good laugh at some of the points people make like facia and indow, ie window.

I do have difficultly in spelling and done so most of my life, doesn really bother me, but i can run my own little company,  pay the bills and lead a nice lifestyle, im alright as they say..

Bfg i say your the best delboy in the uk.

enjoy your weekend,

Leights - you are going off your own topic - I'm not interested in petty feuds that happen elsewhere - I am simply answering your question which is "what (do) you all think of this set up?" - you then put a link to your website and show a video of your van. I have simply answered the question.

I think your tank is too small and that your van and/or website has spelling and grammar errors which could be simply addressed. I would further add that you are limited with a lower payload escort van as to how far you can take it. You are on or approaching the limit on legal weight.

You could drop some unnecessary gear and put in a couple of barrels to stretch to 300L but that will still not cover a days work without a refill.

If you don't want to know what we think then don't ask the question.

Ian - thanks for the reminder.

gold??

thanks for that, youropinion matters to me, im not knocking you at all.

your right pay load ect is nearly over, but the important part is its not, yes the web site has 2 spelling mistakes i can see i have to get them sorted. thanks. what ones can you see.?? message me with them as this is getting confussing to where i have left replies.

the gear in the van is a ? at the mo i have 2 and a large lock up, i used to have alot more gear in there so its actually not that bad at the mo lol.

i had to write what i did just now as it was going off topic and ganging up on me, but its now put to bed, i will ignor the del boys on here, its not worth it.

im getting a bigger van soon, as i want a bigger machine, any idea's from you on that pal?
