Title: Customers following you round
Post by: wayne zabel on August 12, 2010, 08:12:26 pm
Did a job yesterday and another  today,I was watched for the whole period of the clean yesterday and watched after doing every room today and asked why I couldn't get marks out that quite frankly weren't there,it was just shading of the pile.

As a newbbie I find this off putting and get quite nervous when this happens. Is there a polite way of saying something that doesn't offend the customer,I'm sure you experienced guys must have a way of saying something.

Annoying yes but it will happen rarely so don't worry too much.  I have had similar several times but now I either ignore the funny custards, put them straight or go out to the van for a few minutes.

Yes can be annoying.
Very few times its happened to me.
If they ask can I watch, I say of course you can.
They soon get fed up and if they dont just move the wand near them a few times - gets them out.

Very rarely happens but funny thing ive just done a suite at tea time and he stood no more than 6ft away throughout.

He wasnt being picky, quite the opposite he was just amazed by it all so wasnt too bad

I find it off putting but what can you do  :-\

Get the pre spray out start spraying and say you really shouldn't breath this stuff in. I always carry a paper mask in the van. If they come back there will always be more spraying to be done.

I think it all depends on why they are watching you, if you feel that they dont trust you it can be uncomfortable, the ones that are just inquisitive are not so bad but i know what you mean, i get worried in the nicer houses where you think you could easily break something, and still get a bit aprehensive going to a new job stupid i know, once i am in and meet them its ok

Think its just out of curiosity but have found with chinese & indian restaurants you always have an audience.

Most recent one a few weeks back I was cleaning a 3 peice suite in a smallish lounge and customer sat there throughout (2.5 hrs) without moving.

Wayne, remember we are the experts  :P and as long as your cleaning it properly using the correct procedures you've got nothing to worry about, your always going to get a variety of customers, some curious, some picky and want to question everything and some who might just not trust you in their house unattended.  :-X

I always ask them to leave the room for insurance purposes just in case a solution hose bursts and sprays them!!!. Failing that put me ipod on.
