Does anyone have a telephone number for Brad or Ian @ WCP?
Matt
-
I don't think they do that.
They have been very helpfull to me, but always by email. In their position i wouldn't give my phone number either.
Brad very often emails back on his iphone if thats any good ;D
If it's an activation issue normally if you give them the relevant numbers they will sort it out.
-
I know Brad or Ian will email me back Slump, they know Susan and myself.
Just wondered if they had a telephone number.
They have been very helpful to me also.

While your waiting for someone to come up with a phone number- and i don't think they will- how do you manage things?
I abandoned george for wcp.I'm still not very good at it. I do have my expenses on, and i have split my business into four rounds by area. I have about three clipboards with worksheets on that i take out with me.
Usually i drive out to the far flung places and work local in the afternoon.
I bought an extra licence to have pro on two computers.
It sounds like your situation is hectic and chalenging, good luck.
-
It is slump, I am having a second licence for my computer up here in Leicester.
I find it easy to use now, but When I first went over from George I thought OMG How do I do this or how do I do that.
Matt

just out of interest why did you both abandon George for WCP?
-
The worrying thing for me is their website doesn't look good as the online help is offline, the forum is shut and a main advert on their home page is for WindEx2010. which was last march.

Its more versatile than George, and Ian was working on an update which meant you can email/text customers from the work list for the next day by pressing 1 button.

That would be a handy thing. For planning work George is fine but the missus (she cooks the books) says there are a few things which could be improved on.

I wish they would sort the bl00by debt list out they have been promising this for over 2 years and still not done it, im getting sick of waiting for them, If I new that I would have to wait for this long I would never have changed over from George, Its not very professional is it, if I nade my customers wait this long for services they def would go elsewhere

I actually agree to a degree. The application is great and i wouldn't be without it but the updates seem to have dried up and the features mentioned would make the programme that much better.

I think we are a pretty tough audience. The times ive argued the benefits or round software on here..... Window cleaners really don't like spending money.I remember even alex saying he used his dad's card system and if it aint broke don't fix it, and then lots of posts saying hear hear.
A few clever guys have got excel rigged for it, and when i had about thirty customers i spent hours diddling about in excel. But it seems obvious to me that even albert eisnteen couldn't do with excel what a dedicated programme can do.
Admin's a massive bug bear for me i have over five hundred window cleaning customers, run another business, and have to do nearly all the donkey work myself ;so it has to be window cleaner pro, just as it has to be carbon poles etc.
What i'm saying is we are fairly small in number as a market segment (window cleaners) and particularly resistant (i mean thick) to change, especially if it costs money.Because of this small take up perhaps they can't afford to spend the time to upgrade.

It does seem like the market isn't that big. I for one would pay for add ons/upgrades but then i guess if something ain't making money then you have to leave it at some point. The programme would be a superior tool if it had all the functions intended
-
Guys out of interest, what functions are you looking for?
-
I ran the evaluation version of WCP when it first came out. It looked good, a bit more pleasing to the eye than George... But I always had a "funny feeling" about it, in that I wondered if it would progress, what support would be like etc... So I stuck with George.
George does everything I need, for now.

All of WCP functions,.. working the same on a mobile device as the home PC,.. with "cloud" data functions (Whilst retaining full operational abilities outside network coverage), with 24 hour tech support & automatic free online (secure) backup.. all for a low, one-off payment (no monthly subscription).
Simples?

Ill point this thread out to them....

HI All,
@ Matt - I have updated the homepage now, just forgot about the Windex banner - thanks for pointing it out! The live help is offline as I used to get people on there for hours in a day and I just dont have the time to chit-chat. However I am almost always at my desk or on my phones email and I try to answer or get Brad to asap.
@ Everyone - I will get Brad to post a lengthy response to your questions and complaints about lack of updates/features as I just don't have the time to formulate a post that would satisfy everyone. We tend to stay away from the forums due some people being very narrow minded and quite frankly rude just because we didnt answer an email in 20 minutes at 8 o'clock on a sunday. People always found time to complain but when we looked into the problem it usually turned out to be a fault of theirs. As a business (which does not just include WCP) we always try to do our best for our customers and it was just not good for morale. This is why we introduced the Gold Support package. I'm not saing everyone was like this, on the contrary, most of you have been helpful, understanding and a real pleasure to get to know over the years. Development is well under way but I won't go into too much detail just yet :-)
@RWC - Thanks for keeping me alert on the forums, it is much appreciated.
Have a good weekend all
- Ian

Nice one Ian
-
Thanks for the response Ian.
Matt
-
That would be the responce on here Matt, or the responce to your query?
i can see his point. When i have needed input they have always got back to me, and just as we moan about our worst customers, or even just the ones who follow us round talking it must be the same for them.
On another software issue i wonder if any of you can help me.
Does anyone know of software for downloading and searching my bank statement? For example if i put a name in to find every example of their having paid me?
