Title: Vac Motor Price
Post by: Fintan_Coll on August 11, 2010, 06:46:25 pm
I have an old Professional plus which I had'nt used in a long time. Someone was interested in buying it, only needed a vac motor so I ordered one , the 3 stage 5.7 Lamb.
 Cost me £174 PLUS VAT
Had'nt bought vac motors from that particular supplier in quite some time, just think his price is a bit steep or have they gone up in price with all suppliers.

Are these a standard motor ie Lamb are they all the same, my machine has lamb motors and i was enquiring with Mat at Cleansmart about having a spare motor just in case, one went, i would be able to replace, i looked inside the machine and it said lamb, but i imagine some are different specs.

Some would be different specs James, some have part of the casing made of plastic while others are all metal casing but I do'nt know if that should make such a huge difference price wise. It would be interesting to know what price Matt charges.

James they are mostly 5.7" 3 stage wattage varies 1200 1300 1500 ect

IMO the chinese ones are not good italian ok and the lambs you mention are ok

The key to preserving them as you know keep dry & keep an eye on the brushes

When bolting them in i go finger tight half turn was told not to over do it with the spanner.

You can get  Amtec  Lamb motor from woodbridge at a very competitive price but if you read carfully you will realise its a clone.

I have two and they are working fine

However thaey are rated at 1300  I believe genuine  Amtex Lambs are  rated at 1500

But performance is fine on mine

woodbridge no longer sell clone motors, but saying that ive bought plenty of them over the last ten years and they are no differant to lambs and have the same power, they used to cost me £40 each, I bought to lamb motors about three weeks ago from woodbridge and they cost me £140 inc del and vat
