Title: pump problems anyone?
Post by: Elite (Ben) on September 10, 2005, 05:24:12 pm
hi,
I have a steemeasy powermax which has recently been serviced( i was concerned about the pump "hunting" for the correct pressure.).  I had 2 new jet filters fitted and the problem has once again returned.

Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?

Many thanks,   Ben

Ben

Not sure if this is same, but when I bought my Powermax the spray from the jets was not constant, it was spluttering at times.

Someone on one of the forums had a similar problem and told me to buy a female connector and attach this to the male connector on your jet hose and run the pump for a few minutes.

I do this before every job and have not had a problem with intermittent pressure since.

ps Female connector cost approx £15.00

Hope this helps.

Hi Ben

Ive had several pump problems with my powermax. In total ive had 6 new pumps over the last 18 months.

The problem with these machines is that they used to use a flojet demand pump. These kept playing up resulting in intermittent pressure.

The newer models now have a surflo pump which appear to be much better and so far no problems with mine.

Try the usal things first tho - are the wand jets blocked? Is the solution tank filter clean - is there an air lock ....

Good luck

John

Having given this some thought, it only seems to have happened since i put the inline heater on, could it be that this is causing flow problems?
