Title: SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE LEAFLET
Post by: james44 on August 10, 2010, 04:46:25 pm
This is a leaflet idea I have been using in the past,

Basically it is a royal mail delivery card, the ones you receive when you get a parcel/package delivered,

I altered it and use it as my window cleaning flyer
Now I have searched for a good flyer one that customers will notice and not pick up and through straight in the bin,
I thought I could spend hundreds on a flashy leaflet  and not get the customer to look at it as just another flyer through their door and bin it,

I wanted a simple flyer but to be effective so I came up with the idea of the royal mail type of delivery card,
Now when a customer receives a flyer from me they think they have a parcel/package delivered so will pick my leaflet up and read it, getting a customer to read your leaflet amongst all the other flyers then you are half way there,
I have had quite a few comments from customers to my new flyers to different, unusal, neat, crafty a******e  ;D because they thought they had something delivered, but putting these through customers doors will almost guarantee they will pick it up

I also use a smaller version of the card for your windows were cleaned today so customers cant say they did`nt see it like they normally do as it stands out in their mail

And that’s what I wanted a simple but effective leaflet to do for me stand out!

Well James, I have read some fairly odd (IMO) ideas from you over the months which I've mostly felt were not worth pursuing.  But with this one, I think you have come up with a real beauty.  I like it  :)

Thanks paul ;)

I have had a far better responce to this one as to any other that i have put out!

Once you do your own the customer feedback is good!

as i have said a few have called me an a******e because they thought they had something delivered,

I just reply thanks least i know that they are working ;D

No printers got to be right to get the maximum effect
Title: Re: SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE LEAFLET
Post by: james44 on August 10, 2010, 11:39:27 pm
Clee here is a post that i have put up on another forum hope it helps you

Yes i have kept the boxes, the bit were it says( we are looking after your) we have put the services we offer, and put a tick in them for the services that we offer ie windows, gutters, facias etc.
The bit were it says (sorry you were out) we post through customers doors who are not in when we door knock,
We also fill in the time date and address of that customer

The bit were it says (because with the 2 tick boxes) we have put our other services!

I have put my logo were the royal mail crest would be and below i have put est:2002 instead of (with us it`s personal)
over on the right were it says (you can collect item from) i have put you can contact us
below i have all contact details and have kept the hours mon-fri bit and put my own hrs that i work,
below that i have put next to the( please leave tick box) i have asked ones who are not likely to be in if they require their windows or any other service to leave this leaflet in their front window or give to a neighbour or they can contact us through our contact details

Were it says( or you can)we have put 4/8/12 weekly cleans when we will be in their area( this we fill in with pen) and any other details you need to put
We have also included the use of trad and wfp methods
I have kept it as original as possible to get the maximum effect
I did not want to overload it with loads of services and the like just put everythink where the tick boxes are.

Hope this helps

Nice idea, looks very professional, possible only downside for us is that at A6 size they are a bit too big for carrying in the pouch without getting bent and dog eared.

Instead we've went for an A7 tear off booklet, 50 sheets on a book with a hard cardboard back and glued at the top, which we got done at our local printers, 500 books for £96

That was a problem that i had to start with as well ian

Got hold of a a6 sleeve to put them in to keep them from getting dogeared and keeps them dry as well!

Seriously though, what a good idea.

For anyone that is interested in making their own the background is 100% Magenta and 100% Yellow, Arial text is quite similar to the RM typeface.

Hope you don't mind me adding that James.

Just about to give this a try, got a card from our postie to have a look at.
In small print on the edge of the card it reads "Royal mail, the cruciform and the colour red are registered trademarks of royal mail group ltd"
Does this mean that even if you change the design slightly but keep the colour red,you are infringing on copyright??
Anyone have any problems using this?

You can always change the colour a bit.
And for people not having the Publisher - just download it form Microsoft site, the trial version is free for 60 days  ;)

I tried this and the amount of people who come out thinking you are the postie trying to pull a fast one (ie just delivering the card and making them go and fetch their parcel ... which I believe to be a post office ploy anyway) :o . I started to think people hated me (double hated one for the lazy postie and one for the deceitful windie) and then once you start to think, whilst canvassing, the game is up (IMO)!

Anyway use them now as a cleaning done ticket so not all lost just another 2,000 to get rid of.
