Title: What do you pay your staff
Post by: Lee Pryor on August 10, 2010, 02:59:27 pm
For those that employ, I want to know what your staff expect to earn on an average day (gross) and what you would have expected them to generate for that wage.

Thanks craig, can you tell me what you expect one of your 7/8ph cleaners to turn over in a day?

28000 for supervisers of each team, grounds maintenance, maintenance, cleaning, window cleaning, then the more for my main man who is manager to all and now a director, but general ops 7.00 per hr, the bespoke staff to each division 8.00 per hr.

They work about 8 hours, i'd expect them to turn over 150% +, thats 50% expenditure 100% for the company, our work is mostly estate maintenance and commercial no domestic.

with the Employment law you can not have someone self employed on a full time basis, have to employ them.

Exactly, and the ones that pay minimum wage are the first to moan they cant get staff.

Not surprised. Wouldnt want to work for you at those rates.

Believe it or not and Im not kidding you some people are not worth the minimum wage.

Its a terrible thing to say about somebody but some people are unemployable, especially in the window cleaning trade due to their crapness.

Doughnuts, sausage rolls, cans of coke, are all good incentivisers. My staff go home stuffed and happy.

We don't have a lunch break, but they can chomp as much as they like between jobs.

The guy who helped you is ideal.I'd have him working like a donkey, talking his numptiebollox, and hero worshiping his boss inside a week.Punching him isn't allowed, but a good squirt from close range would have woken him up a bit.
