looks good and im gonna feel more happy with it as regards the cleaning of the sills and avoiding any scratches...
any tips on using it??
-
Im happy with the one i've got, all I do is brush my hand across the bristles regularly to remove crap that has collected in the bristles before doing the glass. Some people have an issue with the weight of the brush but I don't find it a problem.
-
they are good brushes i have gone back to them from gardiners, as dont have to keep bending the neck to suit every window, with there just use it
-
just use it and enjoy,im using far less water with mine as it cleans quicker and easier, bird crap comes off easy!
you will love it martin, and it doesnt scratch sills which is a massive bonus!
-
What jets are you guys using with the sill brush?
-
I'm using a Vikan mono sill brush with pencil jets. I did try the sill brush from Bayersan, but after a few months it looks like it has an "afro". ::) ::)
-
Only tip I can think of is join a gym and try to build those arms up first. Maybe practice with a brick on the end of your pole.
-
why because its twice the weight as the superpoope brush that takes twice as long to clean anything with because they are cack?
if you cant lift a pole with a heavier brush on the end you after to be a right whimp!

too right gave 2 superpoope brushes away might as well put a feather duster on the end of your pole
-
they must be the most expensive feathers ever, feathers are more use though tbh.
i threw a superpoope away and can honestly say i will never ever use one again.
sill brushes rule!

Anymore superpoopes post them to me and I'll dispose of them for you :o ;) might even pay you for the privilege too.

ive got a vikan sill brush but its the stiff bristle version and im sure its too harsh for normal windows!its great for conny roofs /fascia cleaning though!
i might get the softer sill brush and give it a go!
i use a supalite flocked and i think its great on maintenance cleans and its better on leaded and wooden georgian windows as the bristles are soft and less chance of damaging wood frames/lead on glass.
i must admit though the supalite mono IMO is rubbish and the ends of the brush are knackered after only 2 weeks of use!
if your using a pole all day with lots of awkward angles to reach over extensions/conny roofs then the extra weight of the vikans can make a difference to the strain on your arms and shoulders.
clee windows you ve not got a full round yet and if you used the sill brush day in /day out 5 days a week im sure you might want something lighter on the end of your pole!!
hows the clx clee?this brodex hydra 25 footer is building my shoulders up but im looking at trying a lighter pole but i need a 25 footer as my main pole.

wot sill brush is the best mono or flocked ?
-
I noticed sometime ago that opinion seems to vary on what brush to use, so over the last 4 months I have tried the following.
Vikan sill
Superlite duel trim flocked
Superlite single trim
Salmon duel trim
The super lites tend to wear very quick
Vikan is good but a tad on the heavy side
Salmon (which I'm using at the moment seems to get my vote. It lasts longer than S/L's and is lighter than the vikan.
-
Where do you buy the salmon?.
Thanks.

vikan have a few sill brushes it seems. currently i use 12 inch vikan red standard mono brushes. I see there is a hi lo, 10 inch sill brush plus a stiff brush. I wont be using the stiff brush so i assume the othe r2 similar to my normal 12 inch red standard brush ?
why the different colours on the hi lo? what is the difference between all of these brushes?

Sorry to hear this. We presume that you haven't contacted us directly about this as we would have been able to tell you that there has been a faulty bristle batch, which has affected some of the last few hundred brushes sold. Anyone with this problem is of course being offered a free replacement from a batch with the correct grade of bristles. You will notice quite a difference with the new brush. Please ring the Office (01726 66400) and the Sales Team will sort this for you.

i have had 2 superlites and both are not very good and bought 4 months apart!
-
Started using s/l dual this week, bristles good, cleans well. The weight is very important to me, very happy.
-
anyone tell me the differnce in the sill brushes which i was on about
-
anyone ??????????
-
Do you mean the red and green sill brush and the plain red sill brush?
If these are the brushes that you are "on about", the only difference that I can find is, the red one is mono filament and the red/green one is flocked/flagged.
I have the plain red and that is mono filament.
It could also be that the red/green brush is the "new" style, but I could be wrong about that. ???
-
i have a green and red and it is flagged, good brush
-
Yeah the red one has stiff mono bristles and the red/green one has softer flocked bristles.
I use the red/green softer flocked brush and it cleans very well and I have confidence that it wont scratch UPVC or sills.
-
can you get a standard mono brush that isn't stiff?
-
yes, the one I have isn't stiff and is a mono. ;)

link to it if possible
-
Not the same one as mine but it is a soft mono sill brush. ;)

the vikan sill flocked brush, is the No 1 most important brush in my collection, i have many brushes, and they are all good, but each one has a diffrent roll, if you are cleaning everything frames, sills all incl, then the sill is the best choice, guaranteed no scratches, and will clean the sills in 2 swipes, give you an example, i turn 100% to the sl brush its incredibly light, i loved it, did the glass and frames no problem, but in an area i work in, all big high class houses, i got 2 complaints in the same week, about the sills not cleaned properly, i took the complaint seriously, and changed back to the vikan sill last week, i hear a lot the word, it weighs like a brick, well it would stuck on a glassfiber pole, or they have it on a pole that can be reduced by taking some sections off, fitted to an sl-x or even better a harris pole, you feel nothing and thats me working all day with it, i have several poles, i plan my day, and know which pole to take and use to make my working day a breeze, any high level work i do, i use only the sl brushes, alex if you are watching this thread, give us the superlite sill, i have said this for years, so come on alex you can do it ;D
