Title: Ashby's new beast

Popped into Dartford branch and saw the new portable, looked really well built
with two giant vacs, they have'nt decided what to call it yet.

Tried to lift it and decided it would have to stay in the van :o
It would be a no go on stairs unless you are the hulk  ;D

Anyone else seen it?

If it has the power then you dont need to lug it upstairs - unlees its flats.

This is the way portables are obviously going - more powerful so they can be worked direct from the back of a van, yet still portable.
Cleaners on here have Scorpions, Alltecs and Airflex all running 3 vacs and in the back of the van.

I am waiting for delivery in the morning of a new seal for the lid, rinsed out hoses with water checked tank overnight no leaks also tightened the L bend that goes into the
lid, found a way of tighteneing it more, holding the bit that the hose attaches to, and turning the other end using the L shape of the part as leverage to tighten more, hope that make sense, i could never tighten it that much just by turning the smooth screw end onto the thread, but just holding it and turning the other end is more effective. ???

changed my mind about using mastic on the lid although i have put some on the wand/ glide, i read the instructions and it did say to seal the top and bottom of glide :o

if its heavy then it must be built for long hose runs. what heat did it have?

How does these new 'high power' machines compare to cheap basic truckmounts? Do they produce similar heat and suction?
