Title: How much is a round worth to sell
Post by: RO-Sheen on August 02, 2010, 07:36:08 pm
I've been offered a round that is about £700 per month. From what I hear it is all well priced work. Any idea what it is worth?

Thanks

Adie

£700 x 3 = £2,100

Somewhere around there. May be more if it's really good work.

£700 per month I wouldn't pay more than £3,000 for it.

5 times? Do you have much problem getting that price? Im not doubting your pricing seeing that you get that price but the thought of paying 5 times the income means you dont earn anything for the first 5 cleans..
Good on you for getting it  ;)

Only some poor mug will pay that!.
£6k for £500 per month! why is it that a few guys want to sell their round for well over the odds, they are the ones that moan about how much it costs for water and DI resin etc.

5x I recon, If someone offered me 2.5x for my hard worked business id tell them where to go to be honest, 5 cleans wouldnt take long to get money back, why would anyone work hard to build a good compact round then to sell it so cheap....

its not a problem as you point out because when you sell you get your 5x back, and it goes up in value as your prices rise

yes its a joke he,s still got it dont work it himself has a couple of Muppets cleaning it for him [very poor and not regular] they pay him £25 a day for the privilege.
2 local lads out of work thought thay,d have a go canvassed it got a few of his custies started cleaning i thought great that,ll teach the greedy git, heard last friday 5 blokes with bats turned up looking for them. i had thought of canvassing it myself but i knew what would happen. ::)

i know of lots of work going for 15 - 20 x that is useless still people pay

window rounds like gold dust in parts ooop t'north

people want compact work close to home, how else ? maybe they hate canvassing or dont feel comfortably, many areas stil very patch oriented so there is a market to sell at that rate

the price only represents demand, basic market economics :)

jings the answer is easy you pay as little as possible and sell for as much as you can only local economics will deter that

i have paid less than x1  and i have also gave work away and i have been given work for nothing. but if i was selling well that would be different

The only round I ever bought was for 1.5x the monthly amount. Which I thought was fair.

But I hear of people around my way paying 3x - but that sound high to me

if you have to do 140 houses to produce 700 its poop, but if you need to do 14 its great value. Get my drift?

The problem with our line of work is that we are not buying contracts.
Quite a few people like their window cleaner and that is why they keep him, especially the older customers.
That is why buying for 3x and more can be risky. But that is just my opinion!
A night on the canvassing can pull in about £50 of regular work on average I would say. So that is like earning £150 - £250 for a few hours work!
