Iwalked onto a site today and saw the site agent about cleaning the show house, which he said Icold do in about 3/4 weeks time, then later on I recieved a phone call from the site hut sec [who I also spoke to] explaining that Ive to ring the companies arcitect on Monday morning because he runs the sites.
The SITEAGENT stated you have the equipment we need, could anyone explain the pecking order of site work disstribution.
The building cleans is already given to a company[thank god]
The site agent said if Iwon the right to clean the show house he would put my flyers into the welcoming pack so thanks to someone on here mentioning it {been to sleep since it was posted] Ive now got an idea on what to do and what to ask,but pecking order no got a clue on.
gaza[[anyone any ideas]

Just a suggestion from my experience Gaza
There is usually a sales office on site. Get talking to the sales people (usually saleswomen/estate agent reps) in there, they will definitely know who ok's getting the showhome windows done, and they are the ones who sell the houses so they'll be giving new owners the welcome pack.
I made up flyers just for such occasions in the past. With a personal welcome to the new owner, hoping that they settle into their new home, and without sounding too presumptuous letting them know I'm the window cleaner for their estate, so they won't have to worry about looking for one. One less thing to worry about as they settle in. All nice and friendly.
Hope something of use there

A question to use is this (to whomever you are speaking in the pecking order):-
"Who along with yourself makes the final decision?" This includes them and shows them respect.
They will either say "It's down to me really" or "Mr.X will award the contract etc"
On larger commercial jobs you may have as many as three decision influencers along with the decision maker - Site Agent, Site Owner, Facilities Manager, Office Manager, Branch Manager. Or it may be down to the senior girl who looks after the petty cash.
If you see a rich seam of gold dig away in all directions and you increase the chances of hitting paydirt!

I used to do the show houses for Fairclough Homes, the girl in the show office gave me the go ahead but payment came from head office 28 days later.(if I was lucky )
It was hard work getting paid, so I stopped doing them

Yep good rule of thumb
Treat everyone on site in the same way. They all know something. After all it's often surprising what the windowcleaner knows ain't it!
Make friends with everyone
