We have just cleaned an ofice block inside windows on Saturday, all the windows were like the pic. 600 windows took 2 of us 6 hours. Also took 7 hours driving there and back.
My right hand is now as black as the dirty water, even though I have scrubbed it.
The pane on the left has been cleaned, the right one hasnt. you can see the colour difference with the building opposite
Pic was taken on one of the first windows, you can imagine the state of the water after a couple of panes

YUK !!
-
So that's thirteen hours @ £30 an hour = £390
Pay for the boy = £130
Fuel = £60
£580 - £600 to make it worthwhile. Pound a window then. Doubt if they paid that for insides only ???
-
Don't think £600 is unreasonable but would want a higher price with all that travelling

Now that is a dirty window!
-
Each window had 2 panes, one of those big panes and a small opener.
With the company who provides this work, I dont charge for travelling, they pay well, so I just take the rough with the smooth.
Anyway back to the dirty water, as you can imagine all the drips were black, so we were constantly wiping floor tiles, skirtings desks, you dont realise how much you drip until you see it all black.
We changed the water 6 times even though it needed doing after a couple, also used 24 cloths.

just out of interest where was that ?

Southhampton
Bit of a giveaway considering the pic is called Southampton ;D

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D sorry didn't see the pic name ;D ;D ;D I thought it was Southampton though as I recall those type of buses there.
I dont live there but have done work there and I have friends who live in Eastleigh and Chandlers Ford which are on the outskirts

I did a job last week just like that. well when i say "just like that" i mean as dirty.
My job had about 5 windows and I was cursing so I can imagine how you must have felt after the first 5 with 595 left to do.
Funny how all that is forgotten as you are cashing their cheque ;D

Dave
I cleaned the head offices for Britannia Building Society for about four years. The insides were cleaned twice per year.
Three floors and a lot more glass than that. Every time we went we got exactly the same. I think it has something to do with the exhaled breath!!!!. On one of the floors there were 200 people in the call centre.

Dave,
Did it drive you to drink?
Windows can be very distressing at times and it can often lead to drinking.
