Started looking for a bigger van, ive been looking at transits o2-o4 but have noticed a lot of Relays, Boxers going quite cheap anyone got / had one? anything to be looking out for? I'll be starting with about a 500L tank.

Contact your Ford Dealer about buying new, you might well be pleasantly suprised. Secondhand vans are always going to have been hammered.

try and go for a decently long test drive .Any honest seller wont fret if you ask that  ,but a shark will !  at least a half hours drive ,give it time to get properly hot  . i would ask the seller who has been doing the maintenance on it lately and then ring the garage up,they should tell you if its a gem, or not .

you can also easily  look up on the governments m.o.t. website and this will tell you what m.o.t problems it has/has not had each and every past year . also this website checks on the mileage reading ,at each and every past m.o.t.  , this proves if it has ever been clocked

My van new was £1800 down and then £35 a week. I think a new transit would have been £39 a week. Cheaper than Vans Direct and some secondhand deals.

Be careful buying in that price band, I bought a Movano private for £2k spent £600 on new cam belt and pullies and to fix the immobiliser and after 8 weeks the engine blew up. Total loss a little over £2000. Set me back years as I now have to use my wifes car and a trailer as I save for another.

I bought a Peugot but Ford deals were similar and Fiat if anything were better. They were all falling over themselves to offer deals and throw in extras. With Vans direct it was the basic model, no choice of colour and no deals.

Check it out, theres no harm in asking and a new van has none of the history and neglect issues to worry about. And its NEW which is a big psycological boost and as I intend to keep it for ten years it will almost certainly be a lot cheaper in the long run.

Vivaro's are CRAP, I totally agree  !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ford Transit all day long, you pay more but if your not a skinflint you will be buying a quality van.

Ive had both   :-[
