Title: SLX mk1 top sec

hi all, has anyone fixed the top section of there 25ft slx? iv adjusted the clamp as far as it will go but it keeps twisting.

can you put varnish on it or something or is it just buy a new one?

any help?

What clamps has it? If it hasn't got them then get the new plastic ones. Cheap as chips and they give far better grip.

You could get yourself a set of new style clamps from Gardiners...I am presuming you have the old style metal clamps.

You could try up ending all the pole sections and refitting the clamps..this may work.

Another thing I did was to refit the clamp 180 deg ...as the inner wall was thicker as it had not worn as much....another way is to cut say an inch off the top section...again the inner wall section would be thicker.
