i've got a fairly decent sized office/shop to quote for tomorrow and just want to check make sure anything i can easily improve.
my first wonder if how do peopel take notes? for eot we've made a form to fill in fields etc as we know what to expect, but for commercial sites as it's a bit unknown for us at the moment we've just taken in lined paper which feels really unprofessional.
after some advice from here i try to now talk with customer first to get a better idea of what they're after, then i view the place and then usually give business cards and go.
any thing i can improve here? i feel like maybe i could bring in things like standard of cleaning, our green policy etc, example of terms etc?
many thanks

Have a folder with copies of everything professionally laid out so you can leave with the client.
Your intro - with contact details
You staff
Your services
Maybe level of service...
Insurance
Terms & Cons
We just have a brouchure.
We dont have a piece of paper that has things filled out, just a note book to take notes as with commercial office cleaning it can vary considerably.
First find out what they want...
Then convince them you can deliver.
Send them the quotation and follow up.

hi there
if they already have cleaners, then they will probably already have a spec, ask then for a copy, this wil give you a great idea of what they want, or at least a start point
i eyeball every site to get an of size, number of occupants, toilets, kitchens, washing up etc, which i use to calculate pricing.

thanks guys. i've not thought about a brochure before but think it's a great idea. anyone care to give an example (preferably over email) of what they have, or if not just an idea of how they're made up? i'd imagine it'd be less salesy e.g. no "Act now for your 20% discount!!!!!", and more designer to give the user confidence and info they'd want.
dave: you say you just have a brochure, so is that the only thing you give to customers? and does that have all the information you listed?
what did you mean "your staff"?
as for our services, i assume we wont list we do eot/spring cleans etc, but office cleaning, pub cleaning, shop cleaning, carpet cleaning etc?
sorry for all the questions
