Title: questions for gutter cleaners
Post by: afssm123 on July 21, 2010, 07:46:03 pm
I am thinking of buying one of these eastern gutter vacs that are advertised on ebay.

Firstly, where do you get rid of the rubbish that is sucked into the machine - and how much do you charge?

I clean gutters by hand and earn around £60-£80 per hour.

Most of the 'rubbish' from domestic gutters consists of moss, twigs, leaves etc. It can be disposed of on the customers compost heap (if they have one)

Failing that, take it home and use it as compost on your own garden.

might sound mad, but you need a waste carriers licence to remove from site, so better off leaving it on the beds etc, does wonders!!

it is not mad its right you cannot take waste away without it, I point this straight out to customers, I may get a license if needed and charge for remnoval as well. I know tree surgeons do it, tree down cost, chip tree cost, removal costs, and they sell it all, logs and chips lol (winner for them)

As far as I'm aware, you only need a waste license if you are transporting waste to a waste transfer station.
