Title: Facia's cleaning and price
Post by: lee sobol on July 19, 2010, 08:48:47 pm
Been asked to clean a 4 bed (3 bed conversion) fascia's only and not the soffit's and was wondering how to price it, the facia's are wooden not UPVC. Also what's a good chemical to use on them, i'd imagine good old soap and water but is there anything specific on the market I can use ? I was thinking of a one off price rather than an hourly rate as I'd imagined 2 hours and a price of £45 does sound about right ?

if its fascias only then  i would charge £30-£40 an hour so £80.if its wooden you might have a problem getting it to look clean!!personally i would pass up the job!

i usually only take on the upvc fascias and soffits cleaning and give an "all in" price.

eg.

WINDOWS CLEANED/FASCIAS/OUTSIDE GUTTERS  £95-00

you will dirty the windows anyway so you might as well clean them as well!obviously if its a regular custy you might charge them a bit less if their a good custy.

if its a one off clean and not a regular custy then the above price is roughly what i would charge

It is a regular custy but they are moving and want the facia's to look nice for new owners, I will clean the windows afterwards anyway and all as an all in one price, to be honest they live diagonally opposite so no travelling etc

this has been my experience with white wood.

But they will probably be covered in cobwebs and a bit green in places, so you will probably improve them somewhat. I can't comment on your price, but i find fascias quick to do with a pole and hosereel plugged into the garden tap. If the price doesn't include the underneath of the gutters, i think you could blitz that time wise. So i reckon your price and time could work out pretty good.

Please let me know the area that people are willing to pay these prices as I'm sure I could easily do 20 in a week earning me a tidy £8,000.  :)

£400+ to clean the fascias on a 3 bed semi?i often get refusals when i say £80!! ::)

i think the only way to get top price for em is to send 1000s of leaflets out and wait for the phone to ring!!

my fascia cleaning is mainly just a add on service on top of my regular window cleaning work.usually existing customers.
