I'm holding my head in my hands at the moment.
I just can't seem to get ANY customer service out of some suppliers. Are they so rich they don't need my money?!
I emailed Texatherm because my Minitex needs servicing and they just never replied. WHY???
My truckmount has a growing list of faults and niggles, the most urgent of which is it has started to leak water from under the machine somewhere. Alltec installed it, I spoke to them about 4 weeks ago and I was promised some parts but they never sent them.
Then I sent an email last week which wasn't replied to.
Then I phoned today and didn't get past the receptionist, but she promised me a call back ASAP from the engineer. Nothing, zilch.
This isn't the first time this has happened. In fact it happens whenever I want anything out of Alltec. Am I on their blacklist or something??!?! It frustrates me when other CCers praise them for their customer service but it's the worst I've ever experienced out of ANY company I've dealt with, and believe me I've done business with some right tossers!
Does this just happen to me??

ditto
booked and paid for hardfloor course, it got cancelled, took me several emails and calls which none were replied to before i eventually got may money back. (at least 2 weeks). i then booked for the rescheduled one which took one phone call and money was immediately taken from my bank, strange how my money travellers faster one way than the other. must be up hill ;D

Sorry to hear your probs with Alltec but im glad you have mentioned this on here as we are looking at them for our next TM , think we maybe as wise to give them a wide berth.
hope they get back to you soon !

Jim,
From what I gather you bought it through SM Ltd, well cant you get them to ring and threaten they will go back to HM for their new machines if they dont buck up there ideas.
Or. Ring them up ask to speak to Robert re booking up a course or buying a brand new Titan or whatever, guarantee he will speak to you and then you have him by the 'short and curlies' and get it sorted.
I have to say when I go there its normally ok, might have to wait a day or so to be seen, maybe its holiday time and they are short staffed, but you do have a point, these days it pays to keep your customers happy.
Or better still just drive down there, take your sandwiches etc and say your not moving unless etc etc.
Good luck with it.

I've had very few dealings with Alltec, just the odd spare part here and there and they've been ok. But I've heard nothing that would encourage me to buy a TM of any description from them as there have been many people questioning their service levels over a very long time now so this latest episode isn't a one off, more the norm.

i was thinking of a blueline before i got my hm 427, spoke to robert and he did'nt seem to have a clue about truck-mounts and then waited around 3 weeks for a quote to arrive. after sending 2 or 3 reminder e-mails about the quote still nothing so went to hm, best thing i have done regarding a tm,

Sorry you've had that hassle - it is frustrating. My impressions of the suppliers I'm tending to use at the moment is that the vast majority offer really good, friendly, service. One person stands out so I'll name him; that's John Williams from CareClean UK. But also Ian Banks at Clean Machine, Brian & John at Extracta and John at Restormate.
I personally got put off two companies very early on - that was Ashbys and Alltec as their marketing machine is just nauseatingly aggresive and that's a big turn off for a lot of people.
I sometimes get multiple junk emails per day from Robert Saunders, and as for Ashbys, I think I'm on to my 4th brochure in as many weeks...... it's just too much. Ashbys really knarked me because they had a recon Ninja in that I was v. interested in. I sent an email asking a simple quesion and was about to buy it but heard nothing back and got side-tracked. Anyway, 11 days later Martin Ashby emailed me to say "sorry it's gone. however I have enclosed a special offer on a brand new ninja". (It was the same 'special offer' they send out with every brochure but with my name 'customized' on the attached document >:(
On the whole though, I've found there to be some pretty decent suppliers out there.

Hi Guys
I've always had very good service from Alltec and have heard bad stories from the other companies mentioned.
Jim, I suggest you do not take any notice of the receptionist and just ring back, talk to Chris.
What I like most is that I can drive to Alltec, about 90 mins and get it sorted face to face.
Cheers

no supplier has ever managed to keep every customer happy. I have heard people complain about customer service from Alltech, Ashby's, Hydramaster, Prochem,Woobridge regardin truckmounts, the only one ive not heard a complaint about on certainly on the truckmount side of things is Restormate.

Think I was looking to buy a t/m type of machine a major priority would be the simplicity of the machine ........the more " moving parts / auto controls / recycle / dump, features " the less I'd be interested.
If you can get a petrol / deisel machine that will run with minimal servicing similar to my old Bane which is simply plugged in / rinsed out / with occasional oil level and belt tension checks your life will be a lot easier and probably less expensive.
I often thought of the " ideal " machine over the years and the Prowler answers most of the questions

Ive got a TM from restormate and yes ive had a few little probs here and there but John and Lynn are right on the case as soon as you ring them, had a slight prob last week and John was going to send a sparky on the day , it was not needed in the end.
As I find it on a regular basis there customer service is 1st rate so thats why you dont really here people bad mouthing there after care, even if they dont stock a product they will find you some that will and give you No.s etc.
I believe they have expanded a bit so lets hope the service stays the same as they get bigger ( which I expect it will )

I emailed Texatherm because my Minitex needs servicing and they just never replied. WHY???
Jim, what is that needs doing to your Minitex, I can't think there's that much that could be serviced, unless the motor has packed up completely?
-
Interesting comments guys, Doug I think you may need to make some contingency plans for the future servicing/parts for your blueline machine ;)
Mark, I put too much pressure on the machine one day and it now makes a rasping grinding sort of noise and the belt slips whenever I put any sort of pressure on it! Must have knackered something in the drive mechanism. I tried to take it apart but it was impossible, god knows how they put it together!
-
Hi Jim,
I am calling in to Texatherm to pick up some chemicals today, I'll let them know your problem. The Minitex as I remember it is held together by allen key bolts to the lower part (2) and one just behind the handle. I think by the sounds of it the belt has lost teeth etc, so I'll pass on your details!
regards
Gary

Cheers Gary, we'll see if anything happens, not holding my breath... I've given up on it to be honest. I can get the machine apart but can't seem to get at the bit causing the problem, if I remember correctly it is kind of a sealed unit inside. Was so long ago I've forgotten but I do know I got grief for having it spread out on the dining table for a couple of days!
-
Hi Jim,
Just missed Mark at Texatherm and everything looked busy, so I have left a note. I would phone them on Monday and describe the symptoms. They can probably advise you on problems and solution from there!
Regards

Jim
start a facebook page about them they will soon start to learn. facebook itself had one where hundreds thousands of people signed up to leave facebook over the privacy issues. it works.
we have the right to review. the internet is full of this just go onto Amazon and look at any product it will have good and bad reviews.
BTW the reason for the problem is that they are all chasing the big sale. that TM or porty. they forget that the penny's make the pounds. just shows you that many will teach about getting and keeping customers but many don't practice it -)
