Hi Guys

The Spifire is kevin Loomes, a nice guy who many of you know.

I would imagine Kev keeps his equipment in very good condition.

Cheers

A question for all you experienced 'truckmounters' out there.......

What doya reckon on the transit/chemtex outfit up on ebay?

Has the transit 300 got sufficient laden weight capacity for this outfit?

Not heard of the Chemtex truckmount - understand that it is from the US - would spares/servicing be a problem here? (I live in Dorset)  is 1700 hrs a lot?

What value would you put on this outfit?

Would you recommend it for someone upgrading from a porty?

appreciate any advice/comments.  Thanks Pete.

Yes the Chemtex truckmounts are sold via Woodbridge Commercials and they are base in Essex UK.  I have spoken to various guys that own this brand of truckmounts and all seem to be really happy with them.  Yes the van is fine for that setup.  The truckmount is now probably worth in the region of £4000 - £5000 then you have the fresh water tank, fuel tank, hose reels, hoses, wand, hand tool, sprayer to add to that price which would be in the region of £1000 - £1500.....Plus the price of the van so i would imagine around the £12,000 is close.

Richie.

Hi Pete, Looks like all you questions have been answered but if you do need anymore info feel free to email me.... jcleanbright@aol.com

We've not had a problem reguarding the weight in the Transit, It still pulls very well and will sit at motorways speeds all day long.

Woodbridge are the importers of the Chem-Tex machine and have all spares and service items in stock, although these can also be bought direct from America on ebay.

Hope that helps, Gary  ;)

Edit: No worries Alan  ;D

Hi Joe, Its gone into a MWB Fiat Ducato, Not our first choice of vans but its one of the only vans can can take the high payloads  :o

Brief spec of the machine is, 68hp Zenith Engine, Roots 59 Blower - 850cfm :o, Cat 5 Pump, Working very well at the moment but as its still relativly new so were still playing with it.

Once were fully up to speed ill get some pics up of the new set-up as we've had lots of custom parts made up that might be of interest to some of you guys such as custom water tanks, custom plastic lining for the van with bespoke shelving and storage boxes. We've been planning/designing the van for over 10months and its all finally coming together  :D

Just read all about your new machine at http://www.carpet-cleaning-equipment.co.uk/genesis_zxt.htm   sounds really impessive,  would be interesting to see how it would perfom alongside Hydramasters Titan.   I bet you would also be able to run 3 wands of your new toy.  Have you sed it with to tools attached with the different heat setting for each tool yet>  that sounds really handy.  It certainly is a heavy machine though.  What kind of price is it for the basics.....(truckmount with standard equipment)?

Richie.

Hi Richie,

It is very impressive if I do say so myself ;D, It exceeded our expectaions anyway :o, The old man (owner of the business ::)) went down to Hydramasters to demo the Titan before we made our purchase and was actually very dissapointed with its performance, Even to the point of saying our previous machine (the one for sale) created better heat :o, He was however very impressed with the customer service that John provides.

Reguarding the weight, It is extreamly heavy, Just the unit along comes in at 600kg so when you start to add on water tanks, hose reels and a few other bits it becomes very close to the vans weight limit, This is another reason why we decided on custom plastic water tanks rather than SS.

Im sure it will be easy capable of 3 wanding so this maybe something we try in the furture, We've not yet tried dual wanding yet but will be very shortly ;D

The different outlets are awsome too, Something so simple but so handy, Just switch over to warm for upholstry and it also means one can mix up pre-spray with cold water whilst the other is still working :D, Very handy indeed.

Price wise ;D, Well we got a good deal on the unit but I believe with the way the USD is to the Pound it comes in close to 24k and thats before you start adding on the extras  :o

ATB, Gary

Which Titan did he look at, was it the 575 r the 875?  Glynn has a 575 & Simon has the 875, both have raved about the heat saying that is top notch and that the performance is matched by the superior heat.

Richie.

Post by: Cleanbright UK on July 20, 2010, 07:10:46 pm
I believe it was the 875 but it was a good few months ago so not 100%, Dont get me wrong, He was very impressed with the build quality, serviceability and of course the customer service but just not as much of an upgrade as he was hoping for ???

He was unimpressed with the Titan's heat ?.
That's unbelievale, they are the hottest truckmounts on the planet !, our 575 was dual wanding tonight with 1 x PC Ti 6 jetter and 1 X Evolution 6 jetter and it gave out a continuous 245f. Spitting heat.

Hi Glynn, I can only relay what I was told :-[, I dont know the full situation so maybe it wasnt run long enough or something but we were expecting big things from it and it didnt produce, Still believe its a very impressive bit of kit tho  ;D

Gary,

Heat isn't everything, you know. I can't see you having had a demo of the Titan 875 as they are order only and the 575 with its new, advanced heat system  is hotter than the 875. But there is also the issue of building quality and most importantly of all service and technical backup. It's all very well importing a machine but will you be able to get the parts and service back up that you will need when things go wrong.

Simon

Hi Simon, Ill have to speak with the old man about which one it was but it was demo'd as he spent a whole day at Hydramasters on a trip to see family in Devon.

Reguarding the parts and service items for the Powerclean, Ashbys are the dealers and have the service items, We also have spoken to the guys in America so are happy with the after care and I carry out all the mechanical work myself.

We all know heat is not everything......but I wouldnt be without it ;D

Gary,

Why did you decide to get such a big machine? £24k is a lot. I'd be interested in any pictures you have as yours seems to be similar specification wise to the Titan 875.

Simon

Title: Re: TM ebay
Post by: Cleanbright UK on July 21, 2010, 03:12:53 pm
Hi Simon,

24k???................If I told you the price we paid for the unit you would understand why we went for it ;D, We wanted a machine that would work for us, We take on alot of commercial work and also do alot of Tile & Grout cleaning, Our previous set-up was good but it was time to move on and upgrade, So far we are very pleased.

Ive also spoke to the old man about the Titan, It was the 875 that he demo'ed, It was a customers unit (maybe yours?) that John bought in for him to test, Like I said he just wasnt impressed enough to buy one :-[

The specs of the units are very similar so once Ive got some pics ill get them up and it will be great to compare and chat about the differences :D

Glynn, Thats real nice heat you have their esspecially when twin wanding, Do you twin wand often? as we find we only tend to do it on the really big jobs. Does you PC Ti wand leak? We had to stick in the check valves on each jet as the dripping got really annoying >:(

Hi Simon, The £24,000 is about what it works out now I believe, But 12k :o If only ;D, Once we've played with it more ill be able to give you a better idea of its performance ;) Our machines must be very similar indeed, Just checking out your specs again and all seems pretty much idtentical with ours pulling abit more vacuum, Other than that very evenly matched :P

Have you ever tried triple wanding?, That must be confusing as hell, Its bad enough when dual wanding with all the hoses going in :o

Gary,

We triple with the Titan quite a lot, indeed that is why we bought the Titan. We triple RX'd 1,650 sq yds in a restaurant on Queen Mary 2 the other day in just under four and a half hours, using about 850 feet of line. Simples!!!

Dont worry about showing off, I love looking at other peoples set-ups :D, Ill have to get a pic up of the roof of our van as I think you may like it ;D

You must have to bring an extra van just to carry all the hoses, Thats like 22 50ft lenghts :o
