My tap water has gone up to 607ppm from about 540ppm this has been stable for some days. my product water TDS is 004ppm after polishing through a small DI filter with new resin. Is this water @004ppm good enough to clean with, as I up till now had a TDS of 000ppm and do not want to start spotting now!

Hi Steve,
I will not operate unless i have a TD's rating of 0. This way i can be sure of my results.
Is the 607 Your tap water reading? Are you using an RO unit?, can you give your final product another polish to bring it to 0?

That sounds terrible mate,it also seems strange that its not reading oo after resin, have you access to another tds meter?,it could be faulty, mine has gone on the blink,i give it a whack and it reads ok but it does go faulty after a while, just a thought,Gaz. ;)

004ppm is fine to work with. I think that there is some mis-conception that your water has to be 000ppm. I've spoken to loads who work with water up to 15 ppm. I think that as long as you clean the frames properly and rinse properly , it should be fine.If you have any MAJOR problems contact your system supplier or someone like r.o. man.

607 is my tap reading, gone up recently from the 540 mark, yes I have RO, yes I polish through a small DI which I have just changed the resin. Me thinks I will have to get a bigger DI and install in my trailer. but I am still puzzled wih this reading also I have one meter on RO and one handheld

slow down the flow rate then test the tds .
just an idea ??? ???

What's your reading after the RO but before the di resin?
-
my TDS is now 006 - i am now thinking of renewing the resin
-
I always take mine upto 015 ppm, then I change my DI resin cartridge on my RO system.
It is best to clean with 000ppm thou but when you pick up experince I would start to take it up to a figure you are ok with.

OK this gets spooky, reading after RO 001ppm,checked with RO TDS meter, reading after DI resin 004ppm checked with handheld meter yea I know! my gut feeling is that as Gaz said my newish handheld meter is playing up

Its called equilibrium leakage.

Its called equilibrium leakage.
Justin
you beat me to it .its where the resin is that saturated it cant hold on to the impurities no longer ,then they start leaching out
-
No the resin used for polishing is new yesterday

damn ! i thought we had it ???
