Title: Indentures in carpet
Post by: benny d on September 05, 2005, 05:52:15 pm
Hi,
Can anyone give a an idea how to get rid of indentures from table legs/couch legs etc  that have been sitting on the carpet for months/years?

I know that the steam cleaning will bring some of the fibres up, but are there any special techniques that might help more  ???
TIA

In almost all cases they are permanent  :(

An ice cube left on the dent can do wonders, (the synthetic type that can be refrozen ) ;D

You can give the appearance of the pile lifting back but usually when the 'back is broken' the fibres will eventually fall down.

And also the backing of the carpet will have stretched as well, so any rectification will be short lived and only cosmetic.

i always reccomend a stronger adhesive , so they dont fall out so easily. ;D
