Title: Double Clean as booster
Post by: wayne zabel on July 15, 2010, 08:50:04 pm
Just been reading the label on a tub of Double Clean - It says that DC can also be used as a booster to add to other cleaning solutions.

Does this mean it can be added to other Presprays?

What would happen if I added some to say Powerburst, would it significantly make the Prespray any better.

hi wayne

it means it can be added to made up extraction solution if you've got a real grotty carpet! same as traffic clean by prochem!

i would just advise to remember both chems are really hi in alkaline so make sure you rinse out with plenty of water or use fibre and fabric rinse to bring it to neutral PH

Hope that helps

Regards
Billy

Hi Billy

I have used DC in the extraction tank on grotty synthetics in the past, but what has got me thinking is that it states on the label that it can ALSO be used as a booster and not just an extraction agent.

I would suggest calling prochem, they are great with stuff like this.

never used double clean but to be honest, powerburst doesn't need a booster unless your up against something greasy, for that you can use citra boost. its a dedicated booster for powerburst and others. also good as a spotter for grease and oil spots,

citra boost! wouldn't leave home without it.

Wayne,

I used to use double clean all the time many many years ago when i was cleaning night clubs 5 days a week.  Its a extraction chemical that you would put in your tank if using a porty or through the chemical metring system if using a TM so no need to rinse out with a acidic rinse. We also used to use it as a booster in the prespray but cant remember what dilution.  If in doubt call Prochem, they are fantastic when it comes to advice regarding their chemicals.

Richie.

use citrus concentrate all the time steve but not as a booster, excellent on chair arms and draft marks, never needed anything stronger than pb and citra boost for carpets. in fact, apart from split x, meths and sod mets, thats all i use, oh and CBT. :)

I have citra boost - will it be okay as a boost for anything.
I use PB on grot otherwise use Craftex Champion, will it
be Ok as a boost for this.
Also use Craftex Advance Formula Fabric Cleaner sometimes
on suites, would it be Ok with this?

John,

It can be dangerous to mix products from two different manufacturers
because there may be compatibility problems.

It is possible that not all products from even the same manufacturer are compatible with each other.

Prochem do have a compatibility listing in their training manuals BUT due to formulation changes
that can take place over a period of time it is a good idea to get an update.

A downside of mixing citra boost with the wrong product can be a nasty odour which appears after cleaning.
