Hi Everyone
I've recently purchased a 3" cfr hand tool on ebay. Had a little play with it and have been quite pleased I know from reading various messages on here that many people use them and like them I wonder if anyone has any hints or tips in using this type of hand tool they would care to share.
Kind Regards
Eddie

Eddie,
Great buy.
The only tip that comes to mind is go over all the corners and joints (especially internal) and look / feel for sharp edges and corners..
Sometimes there can be a bit of weld that sticks out and leaves a straight line across the upholstery when you use it.
The answer is to round them off with a bit of wet and dry sandpaper. It really makes a difference (as will the CFR tool to your cleaning, especially on flatweaves).

Yeah, don't bid more than I was prepared to pay in future! ;D ;)

change the vac release nut for a 'wing' nut, it saves you running for a spanner when you want to have air-flow,
colin
ps it only has one fault, that is that the vac tube un-winds itself from the tool, if you or anyone else has a cure for that, let me know!

Dennis
That looks more like the 5" rather then the 3", but I may be wrong.

I think your right Joe, Good price.

at the meeting point of the vac tube and the twisting joint, wrap some duck tape , Dont silicone seal in case there is a prob with the solution pipe.

Hi
Thanks for your comments wing nut sounds a very good idea, and yes vac tube could be a problem its unwound on me twice already I'll try the duck tape suggestion.
Dennis, sorry mate, it is that one, but you know all's fair in love war and ebay. ;D
Kind Regards
