I am assuming that you are talking about a business plan or somesuch similar document. And in that case it seems a bit ott. We are talking about cleaning services not something new or technical or whatever

I suggest you look in your local Yellow Pages and count up the number of companies listed under Commercial/Domestic as appropriate. That clearly illustrates that there is a demand for the services you are providing. It might beg the question, does the world need another cleaning company so you need to think about what it is that will set you apart from the competition or your USP unique selling point to use the jargon.

There are no hard and fast rules about what should/should not be in a business plan. Just because the template or sample you are looking at has certain headings or topics, don't feel obliged to use all of them if you don't think they are relevant or appropriate.

I think that most of the big banks business startups have information leaflets about various industries (Barclays definitely do one for cleaning but I don't have it anymore). From memory, lists trade organisations, size of market etc

Hope this helps

Mick

Blacksheep

Get yourself down to your local Business Link/Chamber of Commerce, they will give you all the guidance you need.

Yea Blacksheep I had to do  similar thing when I was starting up, so I walked the streets and asked different people what questions they would ask of a dom cleaning company and what they would expect the same to provide.

I had to draw up a business plan in order to apply for a grant from one of my local enterprise agencies.....it was about 35 pages long in the end!! :o

HI ALL this is for a grant, they wont even look at my busness plan unless i have five draft contracts, letters of intent or documentary evidence, i would not be taken so long to get started only i want pennies for a carpet cleaning machine,i rang them up to day to see what evidence they wanted , they said a servey would be some way towards evidence, but my 11year old had a better idea," mum why dont you just ask the  men in the office if they want me to dust for them" so i am in the morning i am going to e-mail companys in the area, tell them i am new girl on the block and would like them to consider me to put a quote,or when its due. anyway a few e-mails back and thats evidence i hope
