what do you charge for an average three bed semi detached house
-
£8 .50
-
depending on whats on the back about 7- 8 down here
-
£5-£6
-
thats 8.50 to me , as i dont class that as an average semi, there are too many panes and frames to clean in that ..... so 8.50
£7 for normal square windows.
-
£5-£6
dont clean frames if they asked it would be £10 ;)
-
yep £5 to 6 quid
-
About a hundred and eighty thousand round my way.
-
£10 - £12 but I have an good rep and most of my work is via recomendation.
-
12.50
-
thats not an average semi- £10
average semi - £8.00
-
£12 -£15 around cambs area
-
£10 - £12 but cant see the back
-
£10-£12 round my part of Essex

£10 to £12, SE Wales.
-
Ok next question how long will it take to clean?
-
£10 ,,,,, 20 mins
-
geoffrey - give us a rear view - and we'll give you a full frontall price!
-
just comparing my prices to what other window cleaners r charging
-
geoffrey - give us a rear view - and we'll give you a full frontall price!
i think about it
-
Bout 7 pound depending on reae an probably around 15 mins to 20 mins tops, if I had them all in a row I would do about 4 an hour, I have some of these an I find the access great as they have a shared drive down the side
-
depends if it right near other work.if it is £8-00-£10-00.(monthly) 20 mins to clean
if its a stand alone £12-£15(2 monthly)35 mins to clean inclu driving to and from job
-
£10...20 mins
-
its a 10min job wfp inc doors
at the back it will only be 4 windows inc maybe a set of patio doors
-
hi ya matey :) £15 in my book, £20 if its got a conservetery,30 mins trad iam north london..............pete
-
£8 - £10 for us, though I had a phone call tonight from someone wanting their windows cleaned, similar sized property, quoted her the same prices, I could hear the intake of breath, her last window cleaner was charging her £2.50 including all the frames everytime........he's stopped coming round, wonder why!
She said she'll get back to me................................I'm still waiting in anticipation, not!
-
£1.00 ;D
PER WINDOW
lets say there are 20 windows that means it will cost (wheres me calculator) ah TWENTY QUID.
-
£10 .
-
Bit surprised at some of the quotes! This is not an average semi in my view as it has 2 bay windows which on the RHS of the bay will be awkward to poll because of the shrubs.
If it is flat backed then I would aim for £15 although I could do it for £10 but not less.

£20 for that house :o I need some lessons
-
£10 around my way.£12 if iam lucky.....
-
£5-£6 without con, under 15 min job on my own. Thats existing houses for new custies wouldnt feel right taking more than £8 of them, some proper dick turpins on here!
-
£10 if cleaned four weekly, as long as the back is flat. That includes frames, sills and doors.
-
£15
-
poling wouldnt be awkward if you got next door as well!!! ;) ;D ;D
i have lots of very compact work with 3 bedders priced at £5-£8 but they are smaller than house shown and i have over150 of them nearly all next door to each other.
any new work out of the way of my existing round has to be bigger houses and well priced and usually 6 weekly or 2 monthly.
£12-£15 if a stand alone and often i get a refusal at this price which suits me fine as im busy most of the time.if they accept then its worth doing if they send cheque, pay me on the day or leave the money out for me.(has to be within 10 mins driving distance from other work though!)
-
20 min job i would charge £12.00 for it plus extra for a coni nice little earner them types
-
depends what part of the country your in but they range from £80,000 to £450,000 although some in Chelsea are going for over 2 million
-
20 minutes plus driving time.
-
easy peasy £15 maybe more on this one thats 8 weekly tho
-
15 to 20 inarea depending what car they drive.
-
12 at least
-
£15 every 8 weeks.
-
£12 wfp Bristol
-
£15 but no less than £10! thats for glass frames sills and doors every clean! take about 30 mins w.f.p top & doors trad ground floor!
-
£9 inc doors windows frames sills
-
£10
thought most of you had a £10 minimum charge

30 mins to clean a 3 bed semi? your joking right?
Trad the bottoms? why? You'll need your single pointers or beer crate to reach the top of the bay window.

15-18 pound in bournemouth 10-15 mins to clean ;D

They had a house like that on the Hustler on TV recently. They were charging £10 just for the fronts :)
-
what do you charge for an average three bed semi detached house
That's not an average 3-bed semi. That's got two big bays!
-
£10 to £12, SE Wales.
I'd agree with that. More likely at least £12 for me, and you too I reckon.
-
15 -20 in london
-
£13 - £15 , on a regular basis only.
-
15-18 pound in bournemouth 10-15 mins to clean ;D
your hourly rate ranges from £60 - £108 not bad!
-
Cant believe some of the prices quoted on here £7 i'd charge 10 to 15mins 25ltrs, inc frames [do them every time ] thats my hourly rate £28 to £42. at £15 that works out at £60 to £90 an hour.
Although saying that i quoted my mate £15 4 bed detached with conny, he pays £6.50 atm but the're crap.
-
if its 4 windows at the back wont be more than £7-£8 thats if its in stoke-on-trent
-
Well all I can say it's no wonder there is a lot of paranoia on undercutting. At some of the prices being charged you could be easily undercut and the guy doing it could still make a good living.
-
£15 4 wkly
-
i was told to charge a third more on your hourly rate as this is what you lose driving around, setting up, writing out bills, chatting to custy's.
works for me; mind you my work isn't compact as others.
-
oh yep £12 for semi, maybe i could do 3 like this in an hour if they were in the same road, but my round is not like that, i use a trolley system.
I think 10 mins is a bit swift; even with van mount reeling in out and colleting money, leaves 5 mins to do windows ::)
-
£3.50 Glasgow ;D ;D ;D

Not at all.
a: driving about, collecting money, talking, setting up and putting away. Won't be your average earning every hour.
b: Hardly anyone does 8 hour days in this job. I usually do about 5.
c: Wet days, other early finishes or late starts.
Just because we might do a £15 house in 20 mins or so doesn't mean you take that all week. :-\
Reality is far different.
And don't forget...everyone is quoting their current prices that we'd like for new work, a lot of our existing work won't be as good.
-
15 to 20. my min charge is 12
-
if its 4 windows at the back wont be more than £7-£8 thats if its in stoke-on-trent

to achieve £50 to £60 per hour u need to clean big commercial properties or blocks of residental flats
-
Geoff, you know the area, I would go for £10, those little ones in Lon Cymru and Glodaeth woods are now £6.00 minimum.
Haven't sen you for a while, where you been?
-
£13. Maybe £14. Surrey/Sussex borders.
-
£10 on a 4 weekly or £12 on a 8 weekly assuming no conny at back and wasnt in Wrexham (Gav owns Wrexham you see ;D ;D ;D )

-

Before I put my prices up, I always ask myself, "Am I happy with what I receive for the work involved?", and if the answer is yes, I don't put them up, and if it's no, I put them up. I'm not really bothered what other window cleaners would charge.
-
£10 if with other work. If a bit of travelling I would say £12.
I have one of these and told her it would be a tenner including frames, sills and doors. She said is that all?? Gives me £15 everytime, I just spend 5 min asking how the grandkids are and she is happy as larry in a pigsty.
-
18 - 22,50 euro's depending on the back, every 8 weeks, excluding velux, dormers etc.
With some of the prices being quoted here in the sub 10 bracket I doubt I could survive...19% VAT straight-away, then the amount of insurance you need here in Holland sub 10 would be a waste of time.
Plus I think I must take far too long cleaning houses...that house I reckon would take me 20 to 30 minutes.
Dave.
-
Yes Dave, but the VAT threashold is around 65,000 in UK, so they don't have 19% on top. That's why it's a shock when you see some prices on here.
-
I charge per unit and have a price for different units like bay windows, patio windows, french windows, sky-lights etc.
That way you are not trying to guess how long it would take.
Having the same prices for the last 5 years? you need to up your prices, how much has fuel increased in the past 5 years?
Also I have noticed that insurance has hiked this year too. you have to charge accordingly, if overheads have gone up then prices have to.
