Title: anyone else skive off when up to date.??
Post by: dazmond on July 13, 2010, 03:44:01 pm
last friday i managed to get up to date with work(first month wfp)and had worked 9am-8pm some days!had weekend off and should of started bang on with my 4 weeklies yesterday.ive also got a conny roof clean and a few commercial and big country houses due later this week BUT............!!!

I decided on sunday night that i would skive off monday which in turn turned into skiving off today.im just now rousing myself from my apathy for debt collecting tonight(as ive quite a lot outstanding at the moment!).i must admit ive been very lazy the last few days but im ready for the next months onslaught now!! ;D ;D

do any of you guys do the same?a few days behind now but im sure ill catch up esp now im wfp.the second cleans should be easier now!!

after getting round i usually lose my motivation and get sick of window cleaning, have a few days off then im bang at it until next time...!!still fell a bit guilty having a few days off!dont know why though..!!! ::) ;D ;D ;D

best wishes

It's not often I get to a point when there is no work due whatsoever.  I even bring it forward a day or two sometimes if it's like that.  But yes, I do occasionally vegetate if there's no work.  I should be seeking bigger, better jobs on those days I suppose but I've got to have a break sometime.

Im with you on that one.

Lets face the truth here - cleaning windows can get extremely boring and tedious at times - so its a balance of rewarding youself with a few days off here and there.

I am almost 5 days behind due to my van being in garage workshop - its driving me nuts trying to catch up especially on the 30 degree heat last week.  I felt like washing myself to cool off.

it seems to go in cycles for me!i work hard for a month then end up having a few days off usually coupled with a bit of depression!more so in winter.then it takes me a few days to really get back into it.

weather forecast is really wet for the next few days so i might even start next monday exactly one week behind!

its very rare i have a full week off(last time was xmas and the snow!)unless its a holiday.

regards

If we are even a day late we get some of our customers phoning us asking where we are, we could have had two weeks of snow and they still expect us there on their day!!

We always finish at 12 on a friday, that's our skive!

I feel very guilty, most we get is an early finish! Before I worked with Alan though he was always skiving off but then moaned he had no cash. Only had this morning off due to getting bookwork done and banking and stuff. Going back out when he returns from first job!

Never been up to date in 30 years of doing the windows, in the afternoons I usually say to myself "I"ll leave that till tomorrow"and so it goes on. Always tomorrow. ;)

if the wind conditions are right for sailing my customers know i'm at the beach. It's a standing joke with most of them. What's the point in being your own boss and not taking a day off when you want one
