Had a call from a guy whos spilt milk on his carpet and is causing a bad smell.
The carpet hasn't stained so I'm going to extract the area to get the remnants of the milk out and then apply some clensan, can the area just be sprayed with clensan and left or does it have to be extractd with F&F as it says on the label
-
Had this problem a few days ago, depending on what the carpet is and whats under it you need to saturate the area with cleansan and then extract
-
pay attention to the under lay no good just treating the carpet you may have to investigate to see how far its been saturated. if you dont the likelyhood is the smell will remain
-
Id go with Richards post that you need to check the underlay and might even have to treat the back of the carpet
-
I would rather use an emzyme prespray and let dwell, then rinse.......bobs ya uncle
-
Enzall.
-
I have some Enzall, would you use this as a prespray and extract and not use any Clensan?
-
Yip, spray on and let dewell for 10 minutes. Might need to do the backing though.
-
If possible cut out and replace the section of underlay.

clensan will do the job
we have sprayed without extraction but that was a light spray and wouldn't have any effect on the milk smell.
i wouldn't bother cleaning if it don't need it, just spray on clensan, agitate in, then leave for 10 or 20 mins, then extract with high psi. 350 400 will do. should be fine, did one today but needed cleaning as well, all though in clensans defence, it got quite a few stains out even before we powerburstedededed ;)

Depending on how much milk was spilt and how long it was on the carpet then John's idea could be a wise move just to make sure then coupled with Derek's reply .
It maybe worth while to mist and rinse the back of the carpet too at a low psi.
we have done a fair few spill jobs and underlay section replacements are used depending on the type of spill/fluid, volume and length time.
remember to price accordingly !

I did it the other day with some dog urine
and woman was well impressed.
It was near a corner though.
