Already on that which is ok but hardly sets my world alight.
I can understand this being a good idea for good builders (because there's enough bad ones around) but I wondering how much work comes in from this idea.

We have just signed up - web only to start with. This package isn't too bad £400ish. The alternative is web and card (100,000 distribution with your details in a small box amongst dozens of other trades) working out at £750ish.
We are giving it a go for a few reasons, not simply to get new hits from their web site - by this I mean increasing credibility of our business (Joe Public where we are have heard of Checkatrade but may not know what NCCA is for example).
-
I'd hang fire on this one. There's only 57 Carpet Cleaners registered in the entire country. And don't forget, only a very small percentage of customers will use this service as most don't feel the need.
Good professional looking adverts, perhaps NCCA membership will often provide all the reassurance people need.

There are better ways to waste your money.... Check a trade isn't that well known.... Word of mouth still seems to be the way ahead and a decent web site :)

Before anyone looks at my website... I'm getting better one done soon ;D

Colin says Checkatrade are not well known - may be true in some parts of the country but in the South East they are. They are based in Chichester and are well known in Sussex, Surrey Hants etc.

I'm in Cornwall Slioch, We're closer to Scotland than we are to the SE...
Maybe I should have said it isn't that well known in my area..... ::)
