Leafleted an area the other day all nice big houses had call to go and quote for a conny clean.
size of conny was 10 roof panels and about 11 windows so in my book about medium size.
Was covered in black runs which wont shift with wfp but will go with some non cutting cream cleaner on the gutters and gutters full of crap.
Quoted £80 as I knew they wanted it perfect she said "How much" .... £80 says me ... "oh no wasnt expecting to pay more than £30 for that" .
Been getting that sort of money on a few connys now so I know Im right with my prices ... £25 an hour times about 3 hours or so £5 for materials
-
why will it take you 3 hours to clean it ? shouldn't take more than an hour
-
gutter cleaning out as well .... maybe 2 hours but like to have a little spare in case of problems
-
lol there is a company in the same town as me that charges £200+ for conny cleans and they seem to be doing well,
-
they expect 30 as that is what there mate got charged by a dole for beer money
-
People spend thousands on a conservatory... Don't look after it and expect it to be cleaned to new for next to nothing.
I'm upping my conservatory prices now as I just don't like doing them anymore.
Also I'm offering a choice of 3 different roof cleans, depending on if they want - better light inside (pannels or glass only / a general clean (wfp) / looking like new (conny ladder... Hand clean)

Well I'm going to do a ::) at you three! I can't see how any conservatory that size would take much over an hour either.
Don't think I've ever taken an hour on one... ???

How do you do it that quick Squeaky........you haven't even got any water ;D
Seriously if you can do a complete clean of a connie in under one hour then i take my hat off to you and all those that follow your lead.
Myself i tend to allow myself a longer amount of time, but then i must be slow as some on here reckon they clean three / four bed semis in 5 - 10 mins whereas i would take at least 15 - 20 mins.....i can only dream of getting quicker ;D

iv never taken moor than 1h ,

I don't do standard houses in 5-10 minutes. Probably 15 mins most times.
But I certainly don't see a conservatory as much work.
Unless access is awkward it's just another 10 windows with a bit more scrubbing and rinsing.
Usually an hour including the house windows I'd say, so £35-40 all in is better than most straight window jobs..
-
Well as i say i take my hat off to anyone who can clean a conservatory with 10 roof panels including cleaning the water stains with a cream cleaner......personally i think you are talking a load of poope ;D

i can not see how a dirty green conservatory , complete with gutters , and windows can be done in 1 hr , esp. when there are dirty run marks on finials , cross bars , and gutters, that will not come of with wfp , even hot , without using a chemical of some sort.
if you can do them in 1 hr , it is not that dirty to begin with, or your defination of clean , is not the same as mine.

I must be the slowest window cleaner in the south.
Still taking 150 to 200 a day. But that conny sounds like 3 hours to me
-
id go with 2-3 hours myself and i like to say thats a complete top to bottom valet using ecover truckwash, gutter cleared, roof bar end bits taken off and cleaned and also all windows cleaned with wfp
-
I did a really large conny roof 16 panes in 1 hr 10 mins and thats including all the pvc and the conny gutter, ok I have a hot water system but with me its a routine, I use a pair of steps and do all the pvc first and ther finalls and dont even touch the glass untill Ive been all round doing the pvc, once that is done the glass is easy.
no disrespect but to read some of the replies on this post makes it sound like rocket science :D

How anyone can time up a conservatory clean without seeing it is beyond me.
-
well anyone who has read my posts will not be surprised to learn that con roofs take me at least 1.5-2 hours for even the smaller one (incl. gutters and windows afterwards). I have got 5 to do next week (and counting!!!) also a gutter clear and a biggish fascia/gutter clear and clean/window clean one off. I don't really like doing them to be fair, perhaps I am too fussy, But the one with the fancy things on top seem to take a lot of messing about to clean. But extra money comes in handy seeing as I am still building my round so not complaining. Been saving them up for next week as it 'should' be a slack week. I am doing Cozy's sisters conny roof, So a big thanks to him for giving her my details. ;)

Is that conservatory roof spelt with a U? :P

Also, More on subject! I was asked to quote a conny roof a few weeks back, This was a good medium sized L shaped on going round the corner of her house. Was not very dirty, Just needed a spring clean really. This woman drives a brand new (well 59 plate) Jaguar, she has always driven nice cars (BMW's etc). She is not short of a few quid but I would not say she is minted either. Quoted her £40, she nearly fell through the floor!!! Thats how people with money get/keep money, They are tight!! I worked/helped out a very wealthy farmer as a lad, he is now a multi millionaire, He never spends a penny more than he has to, walks round in 20 year old trousers with holes patched up, Always haggles for a bargain, rarely does anything for nothing. I wish it rubbed off on me but I blow every penny i earn ::)

an average or medium size conservatory takes no more than an hour and a half to 2 hours inclu setting up to driving away.
use tfr if really dirty and a stiff vikan sill brush.a quick clean of the windows and frames when done.
once you ve done a few you know roughly how long they take.
i do hate the ones where ive got to get my ladder and stand off to reach the far side of roof due to fence or bushes in the way!!! ::)
i like to do them after a days work about 3pm-4pm.boosts my money for the day!! ;) ;D ;D

Not so much charging them for my spare hour but more of getting it perfect and taking my time (her time) ... she was very very fussy and I had a vibe if it wasnt 100% mint then she would try not to pay me so worked on 3 hours to get it dead right ... maybe a little over cautious but prefer that to not getting paid fair enough I wont get paid now cos she didnt go with my price but just got one in next road for the £80 about same size but this customer more realistic to what can be acheived ... first customer said she wanted it like new which cant be done as its about 3 year old :)

snap ... totally same as me Richy

I drove 16 miles today to quote a job, from a call i had a few days ago. Cladding, conservatory, guttering, 5 bedroom house. When I got their the house did not seem that bad,i knocked, no one their. I was thinking around £120. I called the customer later and they told me some young lad had been canvassing and he quoted them £10.00 for the complete job, and done it their on the spot. They gave him a £5.00 tip.
Trying to run me out of business :o
