wfp is the way forwod
-
3m double will do around 99% of jobs residential out of 240 odd residential customers only two would need a 3.5m/4m double
but i do them all wfp now
-
3.5m would be better IMO.
-
i carry a 3m for most jobs,but have a 3.5 for a few jobs
-
i dont think 3 m doubles will be enough as sometimes you have to put ladder up above a 1st floor window.i would say go for the 3.5metre as that covered all my first floor work.
better to have a bit extra than not enough!!
im glad im not climbing em 100+ times a day anymore!after 16 years it gets a little wearing!!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

Hi,
Ramsey 3.5 will do all first floor windows with ease.

check that the pointer ladders have splayed legs at the bottom.i read on here, recently ,that some are now made without splayed legs, thats LETHAL :o
-
make sure the point goes to the top and not in the ground . a lot of tradders do make this common mistake ;)
-
A bigger ladder will do more windows but for 95% of the jobs you don't need it and you are lugging a heavier ladder around un necessarily.

Ive been using a double 3m for about 3 months now ... does all of my houses no problem .. not a pointer ... had to be a 3m as I keep them inside my van as roof too high.
-
i used a 3m double for 3 years of trad cleaning,

st1allstar was the ladder a pointer or a normal ladder

see something this morning that has put me off for life
a lad was connecting a irrigation system high level in a greenhouse fell from about 5 metres bones we poking out both legs in about 3 places he was squaling like a pig
i think this probably sums up the true benefits of using wfp
after seeing that today it certainly made me think about using ladders again

it was a normal ladder, bought it from midlands ladders http://www.midlandladders.com/products/Double_3_0m_9ft10_Trade_Light_Industrial_Ladder-10-7.html
