Guys I know this is not window related but I am hoping the mods will give me some leeway as you guys have more experience with pumps and hoses than anyone else I know.
Myself and a few friends have entered the local charity raft race, we wanted a water cannon so have purchased 2 small 12v bilge pumps. (Basically a small sub pump)
The idea being we could isolate in a dry box a small leisure battery, mount the pumps in a box full of holes to allow the water to enter, then connect both pumps to one hose ( 1”) I had hoped it would be powerful enough to give us a decent jet but sadly it’s more of a sedate flow.
I have tried reducing the pipe to 15mm hose then a wfp nozzle but with no luck.
So..... Any Ideas?

Hi i dont think any 12v sub or bilge pumps will give enough power to shoot out water,
i may be wrong but i have been messing with all sorts of pumps lately , and some of the so called powerful electric sub pumps are weak,
i suspect that the problem is the height from where the water is drawn.... to the actual point it needing to shoot out........ as even a decent pump has a minimum height... some can only draw upwards.... 500mm.
you need something with a max head height of around 5 metres.
It would be cheaper to buy a couple of large water cannon guns from toys r us.
