Title: Can anybody tell me ?
Post by: P @ F on August 31, 2005, 10:44:08 pm
Hi peeps ,
Why is it that yesterday i got out on the job and 2 hours in i realised that my resin needed a change , it was up around the 20 mark , but i didnt have the resin on me , i checked my work after each job and the finish didnt seem to be suffering at all , in fact there was not a spot in sight anywhere , and these were first cleans on the wfp , i carried on all day and i could not fault anything i did , i took the TDS again when i got home and it had jumped up to 43 .
I know what your all thinking , "yeh , but you didnt see them from inside"
Well today i went back to do the insides for one of the last cleans of yesterday , and it really was spotless , and more strange was the fact that they were wood frames with a beam to split the pane in two , these i have had a few runs on with previous jobs , but as i say , the finish was superb ? ? ? ?

Has anybody encountered this before , or can you offer me some explanation as to why the work turned out so good ?

The thing is , my TDS here is only 48 from the tap , so i am toying with the idea of trying the untreated water , and seeing what the results are , what do you think ?

p&f you need a bigger di bottle that one you have got is tiny .
you wont have to change the resin in a bigger bottle as often.

The thought that the TDS meter had gone to ground had crossed my mind , but i tried it on Ivybridge water which i know has around 50 and Plympton water which is 100 , both readings were correct , so it cant be the meter.
If i got a bigger DI it would need less changes , but it wouldnt make my resin last longer per bag , would it ?
Perhaps i have MAGIC WATER !    ;D

This TDS thing is a mistry to me too.  I was trying the pump out before I rigged up my system. I was using water from by bucket with my usual washing up liquid and rinse aid mix. I cleaned the kitchen window. Later on inspection the glass was perfect except for 1 small run from the top frame. DAI

Hi Dai , when you say you did your window with water from your bucket , do you mean that it did not pass through resin at all ?
