work out how long it will take you times by hourly rate  :)

have you ever sanded parquet ? if so can you give me some idea of the work involved, also do you hire the sander ? does the sander have an extraction port to attach a vac to pick up the dust ?

Sanders usually have a manky old bag to collect the dust that leaks. I connect the hose from a good dry vac instead, it saves 99% of the dust.

hi conrad thanx  for the reply, ive got an idea now,#

with the sanding i have been sanding for the last ten years and parquet is not my favorite floors to do,  because you are allways sanding against the grain,  i have learnt this lesson well,  sand with the grain i know it sounds odd but it the only way you wont get cut lines.  you can get away with more with floor boards,  with the machine thing i allways hire it cost me around £ 30 for the weekend and please  DO NOT put the hoover on the  exhaust pipe,  you will be constantly emptying the blooming thing.  use the bag allways and empty it when you think its full enough,  safety tip,  never leave the bag over night with the dust still in it,   as you may have gone over a nail and has lifted a small spark in to the bag. and may take sometime to flame up as it smoulder first.   if the bag is torn or any thing like that in the shop ask for a new or go somewhere else

as hard work is involved cut the floor first with 24 grit, as many times as you think is necesary, ig ubntil all the dirt is off.  then 40grit twice.  then 60grit, twice. go to 80 grit and then 100 to finish it nicely,   on the egdes use a forty disc to get rid of the major dirt,  and then get rid of the swirly marks with a 80 disc,  an average living room say about 20 meter square i can do in a day,  and i usually charge about £ 25 square foot for domestics,  and £ 30 for commercial, as  they are usually bigger and you would probably need a hand

sorry for being so long  but if you want it done properly do it right
