Title: family problems
Post by: creggan on July 01, 2010, 12:06:17 pm
had my brother in law working for me from november until 5 weeks ago.had to let him go as he was taking half days, doing nixers in my time, etc.now he has this week started contacting my customers canvassing  my houses for himself.my wife told him to stop it and he told her where to go in no uncertain terms.the 1 problem i have is that he is from the town i work in,i'm not.by the way he is claiming dole and his partner single family allowance even though they live together and i reckon they have income of £400 or 500euro per week.dont want to contact social welfare but dont think i have any option as he refuses to stop >:(

Potential can u afford to loose a few if not then u need to contact all ur customers to let them know what's happening .. From the description he sounds like a waster who won't stick at it ... Personally I would inform the dole but tell him that's what ur going to do

my wife has told him that informing the dole is going to happen if he doesnt stop.personally i would knock his block off but that would open a can of worms involing the law.

the moral of all this is to report him secretly but if any come backs its his word against yours thats if you didnt put it through your books etc.
And a lesson learnt never how much your stuck for help do not turn to family. Only turn to family if you need to borrow anything.

if you explain to your custys that YOUR there window cleaner and this guy is working on the side then you should have no problems.

dont report him as if you ve had him working with you no doubt you ve probably broke the law as well.

dont ever take on anyone again and either look for better paying work and go wfp if you havent done so already

preferably both then you will earn more money without the hassle of employing

regards

dazmond

Yep never mix family with business.  My brother out law is a window cleaner and mentioned combing rounds.  I said no chance.
