ive put a tap on my new brodex pole and i was wondering what sort of pliers you use to make them the "o" rings tight?
any help would be welcome guys as the one end of the pole hose kept blowing off whenever i turned my tap off at times today!! ::)
if any of you guys have a pic or something so i can buy the right one or do some of you guys just use small jubilee clips instead??
thanks

go to a tiling shop and buy ceramic tile cutter, hand held ones, they are just like big plier pinchers
-
much like whats already posted but cheaper
-
thanks for the quick replies guys!!
my o clips are the ones i got from pure freedom with a bit on either side of the clip not like the gardiners clips!! ???
maybe i should just order the gardiners clips and pliers as these look like i could get a tighter connection!!
best wishes

just buy some jubilee clips, much better and easier

I have the same problem Dazmond with my tap from Pure Freedom. I think I got it right yesterday in that it no longer blows off, but there is still a small leak.

Do as Darren suggests

Just buy a pair of pincers from B&Q about £5, then you have them for future.

I sent 10 of the inner o rings back to gardiners this week as I dont get on with them, I have the ones your talking about Daz they work just fine, gardiners also sell these as I had them delivered 2 days ago.
the problem I had with the inner ring ones was the clip didnt fold how it was meant to meaning as soon as pressure was in the pipe I got a soaking much to the laugher of the neibours and my wife.

will work fine as long as they are tight enough, only thing I dont like about jub clips is the sharpish edge should you catch your hand on it. at least you can undone and redo them fella ;D
I seem to be one of the types if it can cut me it does...

I normally double up my o rings. Have two on at ninety degrees to each other.
Usually buy the double eared ones cheap enough from ebay and fit with a pair of nail pincers.
Always keep spares of everything in the van.
Tap on the pole hose for me - no heavy tap flying about when reeling in and lighter hose hanging from the hip. Push fit taps are good as they can be swopped whenever with no tools in two seconds.

I now use cable ties ;D Much cheaper and they do the job.
