Title: using different poles?tops/bottoms??
Post by: dazmond on June 27, 2010, 11:39:13 pm
any of you clean a house with different poles?as ive made a nice and light short pole from a unger optiloc and was thinking of swapping poles for the bottoms on some houses.

there is a pole holder on my trolley for it as well!

or is it more messing about chopping and changing??do you find it better and less strain esp if you ve got a crap main pole(glass fibre! ::))

ill be trying it out tommorrow!

never done it but i look forward to see how you get on, if you can carry a short pole on the trolley and change quickly then it may make sense

mike i do use the squeegee on quite a few lower windows as ive only been wfp for 2 weeks!!im on about the large lower windows where you would normally have to get the single pointer out if you were cleaning traditionally.

stu ill let you know how i get on with it this week!! ;) ;D ;D

Yes I use 2 poles.

I find it a lot easier on my arms, also there are some jobs where I wouldn't be able to clean with my 18ft because of tight spaces.

Personally I've found that using a short pole can save me 5 mins on quite a few jobs. Every little helps ;D

It won't get any quicker than 1 job, 1 pole. You jut have to get the right pole in the 1st place. Once that is done, you will be laughing. And much quicker than you are now.

Hi
I always used separate poles for top and bottom when we used Unger Teleplus as our upstairs pole as it was too long for downstairs.
Now I have a CLX22 and can use the same pole for 99% of my work due to its short closed length.
The time saving in not swopping over each time is considerable. Ever since I bought this CLX my daily work rate has increased through time saving.

on most i use one pole 18ft and wouldn`t swap and change unless i can help it.
i only use two poles on jobs where i need a pole to cover 3rd and 4th floors and then change to the lighter smaller pole for the lower floors.
