hi all w.f.p'rs
just wondered what are the warning signed that you need to replace your splitt end brush? mines around 6 months old used daily (4 day wks) and is starting to look like a woen toothbrush.
i pull some stray bristles out here and there but the bristles have not worn beyond the split-ends yet!
thanks in advance
all the best g.b.w.c

I've had one of my brushes for 14 months now... I find its better now than when it was new (vikan oval mono)
I think you get a feel for when a brush needs changing.
I think if your having to pull out strands that stick out from the rest, its time to change.
-
Every 2 years I order a new brush...seems to work.
'every 3 to 4 months'.... ;D thats funny...
Dave.

I never change them. I get a new one on a new pole.

One of my brushes must be three years old now. Still being used daily. I don't see any reason to change it.

Replacing a brush head. A few months, a few years, I guess it depends on how much you use it. But great to use the old brush just for conny roofs, etc :)
-
I'm not comvinced at all by this thread regarding the frequency of brush replacement.
The brush doesn't really do the cleaning, the water does that and the rinsing afterwards.
All the brush really does is agitate the surface of the glass to get the dirt moving.
Provided the bristles aren't falling out or worn where is the problem?
I'm sure the people who want to sell you a new brush every six months or so will tell you a different story.
But my three year old brush works just as well as it ever did and I have absolutely no plans to change it.

Horses for courses...you can change your brush every 3 months or so and I'll change mine when I think it needs changing...and we'll more than likely earn about the same...
The corners on my current DT brush were rounded off so I just unscrewed the pole attachment and refitted it the other way round...that'll keep it good for another year or so....
Windows still get cleaned the same.
Dave.

So in essence very little advantage then changing the brush head so often...I'll save the pennies for a lady-boy on my next trip to Thailand.. ;D

LOL, pennies and lady boys for you, but its worth me saving 8 hours every month, how much did you save using a Harris pole and an old brush :P
