Its that kind of year. blame the weather. Or the changes in the herbicide regulations. I am not sure how this has effected the pre-emergents that are used in the special sands. No one seems to know, and I get really angry at suppliers giving me the dumb " what the f*** are you on about look. I am playing around with an organic plant derived powder.
There also seems to be a lot of the dreaded knot weed taking up residence which is frightening.

my mate uses beach sand. its full 0f salt and prohibits weeds and its free!! :D

Did you spray it before you cleaned it mate? Were weeds dead before you started cleaning?Just spray weeds, pull them out when dead and put more sand in or you`ll have to wash whole job again, sometime you might have to pop back and to do this a few times on odd jobs but you find less to kill on each visit.

gave it a spray once done but doesn't seem to have worked. goona get some sodium chloride aka salt on it and poison it. My mate said salt will poison the weeds. Used to use by the ton in last job too LOL. Will get my mate to get some from the suppliers and also speak to farmer and get some real weed killer

Be very careful with Sodium chloride because it kills grass and shrubs so when it rains you will get run off then you will have problems. Also you are breaking the law applying weed killers to customers property. Also you could be prosecuted if it gets into the water course by the Environment Agency....You need a PA1 and a PA6A Certificate to apply pesticides, i have one as i used to do loads of spraying for councils and Environment Agency along water courses spraying Japanese Knotweed, and Himalayan balsam...also weed control on footpaths. And if you carry pesticides the have to be in a locked spill proof box, and have in your van all the details of the chemicals you are carry in case you have an accident so the emergency services know what the are dealing with. Also check your insurance as you wont be covered unless you have PA1 PA6A. Most agricultural colleges do the training.

i'll get my custy's brother to spray it then as he mentioned he would give me some lol

Rosate 36 off e-bay is good

A lot of weedkillers may take up to 2 weeks to have any effect.

Not sodium chloride (salt) Use sodium CHLORATE weed killer. Best weed killer on the market and it is a ground killer so you can run it between the cracks.
-
ye still buy sodium chlorate?

If you dont kill the weeds then yes they will come back ;D but as mentioned...be careful
