Title: Cat urine on wooden floor
Post by: coyote7 on June 16, 2010, 04:17:49 pm
Hi all,

Been to look at a letting job where the landlord has ripped up all carpets as previous tenant was keeping 22 yes you read it right 22 cats :o and had as you might expect a fair few accidents. Considering the amount of felines it's not as bad as you would expect and only two rooms downstairs seem to linger. Can anyone advise a possibility to clean this/ get rid of the smell or is it a case of the floor boards need ripping out??? All thoughts appreciated as always ;D
Rich.

If its freshish & still damp -  I would force dry / ventilate with whole room dryer then thoroughly sand and seal with a couple of coats of decent varnish or laquer - this will save your prospest a fortune not to mention major upheaval and poss finding more nightmares under the floor. A fair price for this service will work out around 25%  (or wahtever you want) of his potential replacement cost of regular pine wooden floorboards - his saving can then be turned into a good earner for you...

I had a recent experience of this with my accountants rental property.

We sprayed the floorboards with Urine Neautriliser and it did the trick
