would it work on a iphone ? anyone use it on one or know anyone that does ?

Simple answer, NO.

George will only work on a Palm operating system, But not the latest version as used by the Palm Pre

It depends what you looking to do with it, If you want to use it as a phone also then the Palm Centro will run George, its a superb phone, I had one for over a year, but now use Blackberry.
If you just want something cheap and cheerful then look on ebay for a Palm  PDA running PalmOS V3.5 or higher.

And before anyone asks, NO Blackberry wont run George either.  :(
