John ,
I have a drimaster tool and have on one occasion tried on carpeting, never again and the reason been they are designed for upholstery, and the very fine filter blocks up very quickly, the vaccuum slot again very fine clogs just as fast.
Stick to using your tool what it was designed for , you have I believe been fortunate this time not to have had any problems especialy cleaning a full flight of stairs.

wouldn't get deep enough, its designed to clean flatsurfaces john. might look good but i think you may be cleaning them again in a few months time, or maybe someone else will. ;) :(

Stair tool wwwaaayy faster :D

definatley not, if there are any carpet grippers near the surface it would ruin the flat plate on the dm and as said it isn't getting into the pile to shift the dirt. stair tools are usually around 6" wide, how can that not be quicker?

Plus if you get a snag on the tool and it tears a sofa your right in the doo doo

All points taken on board, consider me chastised.
Never really thought about just a thought that
came into my head whilst I was cleaning so gave
it a go.
Will leave well alone now.
