I upgraded (?!) my Ashby's Diamondback to a 500psi machine from a company in Texas and though the cleaning pressure is great, the machine has no provision for an exhaust. The Diamondback was a joy in this respect as the smell from solvent spotters, moisture and a fair amount of noise was blasted straight outdoors usually thru the letterbox but a window would do just as well.
Just wondering how many chaps use an exhaust with their porty? I work in London so a TM is completely out of the question...

when you say exhaust do you mean a length of vacuum hose connected to the outlet of the vacuum motor.
you can easily fit a bit of tube to the outlet port of the motor that will facilitate the connection of a bit hose.

Isn't there an increased chance of the motor's over heating if they aren't venting properly?

Ive used a Ashbys Ninja with a length of 1 1/2 inch vac hose connected to the exhaust to reduce noise in property and to direct smells outside. I stopped doin this though as im sure the vac performance decreased when the machine was used in this way.
