Water repellent? Maybe. So ok for car windscreens.
Birds muck, spiders residue etc - I don't think so - and where's all the muck gonna run? Onto the window cills which most domestic cuctomers care about as much as the glass IMHO!

Pilkington created slefcleaning glass a few years ago. I quoted a house the other day which had such glass in its frames. After the normal chat it turns out that yes water does run off but other factors stop it working like bee pooh on the window, bird muck also dust etc so don't worry about it too much...

I've had the same thing. In fact one customer cancelled because they were having this special self clean glass. I was called back after a few months cause it dont work.
Back in the late 80's a glass building in our industrial area was built using self clean glass. It was even positioned on a slite slant so that the rain would just run off. It didnt work. Yes the rain would run off but dirt was left behind. I would see the cherry pickers there when they realised that the glass needed to be cleaned. It must have cost then a fortune.

I hjad a customer cancel after having this stuff installed. It was one of those cancellations where I got around the corner and celebrated ;D . I'm sure we've all had them. I never heard from them again and good riddance too.

"Excuse me madam, are you interesed in having your bumps remodelled".
