Title: Sign written windows
Post by: wayne zabel on June 07, 2010, 08:22:37 pm
I'm hoping to get a new (to me) vehicle soon and like the look of the Citroen Berlingo estates, which could double as a van or car when more seats are needed. Can the glass windows be sign written on and is it any more problematic than standard sign writing.

Thanks

Wayne

get the letters applied on the inside and then a sheet of vinyl the same colour as your van applied over the top of them, so it forms a backing to the letters as you look at them from the outside.  Good for security too.

applying sign writing to windows is as easy as applying to van panels.

and as easy (or as difficult) to remove.

Have you thought about magnetic signs to put on the body panels. Peel off when you want to use the vehicle for family use and dont need the advertising factor.

The stickers come off glass easier than the paint work when you come to sell the vehicle.... Glass is the better option IMO :)

Until I got my Berlingo van, I had used the Berlingo multispace (car) and it did a great job and was most flexible. Sign writing is a matter of preference. Magnetic signs will alow you to have the car as 100% car if thats what you need.

Cheers

Thanks for all the above.I have looked at vans and all seem to be abused and expensive for their conditions.

I have always liked the Berlingo estates and price wise and codition wise they seem to be a better option/idea.

I like the sign written windows on your estate (Gr cleaning solutions - how much did they cost)

I have decided that I'm going full time CC very soon and this will be the final piece in the jigsaw :)

There is also a film that you can have digitally printed but can still see through. most sign writers can advise on this. It is an expensive product but you have the safety of seing through which is better for passengers.

who doesn't need to advertise as much as possible for no extra cost?

I have just brought a new van too (well new to me). At the moment it has clear windows in the rear doors, however for security I am considering getting panels to cover these.  However on reading this thread it has given me a new idea of using tinted film and a grill for security so that I can still see out when reversing etc. Never used tinted film before, I assume that it can be seen through from the inside but not from the outside, does that make sense! If so does anyone know where I can get some from?

Sorry for hijacking thread, seemed easier as it is kind of releated than starting a new one. ;)

what gr cleaning solutions has had done and shown in the image is see through from inside to out. it works almost exactly the same way as tinted film as you can see through to the light from the darker side. get it done as it's a great space to advertise and would be a massive opportunity lost
