Alot of dodgy carpet cleaning videos on youtube going about so why not compile some here..

Is this guy serious? dry vaccing with a HWE machine!? and his voice is sooooo annoying!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiniJRT9We8 ??? ??? ??? ???

oh good find Dave! a proper chav there letting the industry down!
-
The first clip the guy is using I think an ashbys vac which is connected up with a water bybpass valve, so dry dirt is carried away wet down vac tube.
I seen one used, too much hassle, prefer sebo vac !

It's called a dust downer and is using the power of the vac motors to pull the brush roll around. I'm not convinced that the customer sees that 'US' vacuuming first even with a professional vacuum cleaner as value for money or even as a silly add on for us to justify or charge more on the job.

When i had my ninjas from ashbys i used them all the time and got very favourable comments from customers so as usual guys whatever you like doing keep doing it.Regards Alan(swindon)

Best and most commercial looking vac I've seen is the Royal but the trouble with it is that to do the edges you have to faff around woth loads of attachments.

My old eclipse came with a bag you fitted into the waste tank for dry vacuuming. Not as daft as it seems!
-
Alltec had one a few yearsago but gave up on it due to lack of interest.
-
I'm mainly a non vaccer!
But i wasn't trying to make this a vac or no vac topic, Just stating that its a rubbish video lol
I understand now that you can convert your porty in to a dry vac but sounds like a load of hassle! and that attachment looks cheap and not very effective. Is it to save time bringing a proper vacum in to the house?
-
Tony I found the real benefit was to the way you are perceived as a professional in that you could show the lady of the house you were using a different(not necessarily better?) method.I am no selling guru but people like to see any tradesman that comes to their property use different methods/equipment than they use.As always difficult to actually quantify how much respect this gets you but if you speak to the client about it they usually are impressed(or is it my BS is getting better with age).I use the usual sebo bs36 and save the PR or BS for the truckmount sell but when i had a ninja this was part of the patter.Regards Alan(swindon)

I am a recent convert to a Sebo for vacuuming. Before it was a henry with a turbo head. Also a Gen4 or Host will pick up masses of fluff and animal hairs. You end up cleaning the brushes with a vac. Its difficult to avoid.

Oh!, well I'm sorry Tony20 didn't like my video!
I think you guys made the point well, it is the standard set up with a Ninja from Ashbys. No it's not made as well as a sebo, but I bought the package when I started up and it takes a while to know what is the best equipment to buy.
Vac or not? well while I have a Ninja I'll pre vac, if I end up with TM then maybe I won't need to. I do get customers saying "wow that is so much better" then I point out that I have only vacuumed!
Sooo it comes down to the fact that my voice is "sooo annoying" I knew I should have hired Morgan Freeman, trouble was, he was busy on that day.
Anyway, in the spirit of the thread that Tony intended to start have a look at this one:

Hi Guys,
I have been around for a while, getting tips from the forum, all my questions had already been asked so the forum is a great resource.
I don't mind Tony's criticism, he also gives good advice, like yesterday when he directed someone to Chemspec's UCT.
The flipflop MAN !! The comments below the video are saying he/she has a great rear!
Thank goodness I was wearing overshoes over my flipflops in my video.
-
Hi Derek,
Yes I remember the yellow flip flops. Good for paddling on the landing. ;D
Cheers

Afresh,
If nothing else, you've got a PR 2 backlink pointing to your video from a cleaning site (plus extra viewing stats)..
That should help with it's ranking.
Garry
ps I agree entirely about your sense of humour. Others could have got stroppy :D

Just looked at your stainguard video.
Youtube has put two videos of You think you're a man by Divine as the related videos. How did they work that one out ? :D
