dml im quite sure i will find out what suits me over time!

the vikan sill brush i will use for conny roofs/fascias etc and the 12in rectangle for normal windows.

people have been using vikans for years!whats so bad about them?maybe their heavier than supalites but ive never used one so i wouldnt know the difference! ;) :) :)

nothing wrong with the viking mono brushes daz ;) they may be heavier but at 20 foot who cares, i am only 5ft 6 and weigh 9 stone wet through and never had a problem with the extra weight of a brush ;D or pole for that matter. jings ive had my son out at 13 years old and he didnt struggle

yes dazmond you will !

you will also find out, that some of the other gear you bought won' t either  ;)

my comments on the vikans were not only about weight, other factors will come into play,
it is only when you get out into the real world with all your w.f.p.gear that you will find out whats best for you  ;)

you might even find the trolley a waste of time and money, or you might get on with a trolley from the off,

i guess we will soon find out  ;D

i was not on about the weight stu, i think there are better brushes out there  ;)

i know a lot use vikans , it's down to individulal preferences

i did think long and hard about the trolley daz but itll be ok as i could always buy a tank or use it as a mini van mount at a later date.

like you say i will only learn through my own "hands on" experience! ;) ;D

im really looking forward to it though! ;) :) :)

After the pump in my pump box dying after 3,5 years use I now have my old freedom trolley in the van  and after re-fitting all the connector with quick release types ...all is well..so most of the time the trolley just sits there every now and then I just close the ball valves...remove the trolley whack on a 25 litre container and off I go....

Sometime I just am in the hose habit when the trolley would be better/faster...so having a trolley as a pump box is not such a bad idea...

Good luck with the new gear Daz...

Cheers
Dave.

Personally I think you have got that the wrong way round, we use only vikan ledge and sills on domestics for one good reason.
I have picked up a few customers from other cleaners who have damaged upstairs sills using normal flat brushes.
As you are cleaning the bottom of the glass or the sill itself using a normal brush the base plate is often touching the sill, especially on windows where access is tight such as small passages,  grit on the sill then creates deep grooves (if the sill is plastic) I learned this the hard way when it happened to me when I first started with wfp about 7 years ago.
Sure the ledge and sill may weigh a little more but so what, if you can’t lift it you’re in the wrong job.  ;)

hi mate i find the whole brush type pretty irrelevant as long as its mono, i have used salmon, brodex, viking and can clean a window equally well with either i also have a cheap car wash brush for applying tfr/detergent to con roofs and facsias

cheers bobby!im taking a few days off(weather gonna be pretty bad up here in the north west anyway! ;))

im virtually straight up with work! :D

so im gonna be tinkering around with the system and cleaning family/friends/neighbours windows free of charge!then maybe clean a few custys houses friday then full throttle next monday!

everythings getting changed over bar a block of granny flats and a few old wooden/oxidized frame windows.i will still trad the odd downstairs windows and the odd bungalow but mainly ill be wfp!

i dont see the point in changing over gradually as ive pre-prepared the windows by cleaning the top frames and switched to gg3 4 months ago.ill probably be a bit slowly at first but i reckon ill soon speed up after a few weeks/months!!

i might as well get stuck in every day as i need the practice!! ;) ;)

Febble excuse so they phone you on the day it is suppose to arrive after sending you an email the day before to say it would be here today,

I mean surely they would have know yesterday?

Not very good service!

Well done Daz, good move.

We all make our own way with WFP, we can't learn without refining from where we start.

Its the best move youve made, not a bad way to be going on.

When I placed my order with them yesterday they said that they had some trolley based systems made up if I wasn't fussy about colour & I should have it before the end of this week.

seddon mines a 50L TROLLEY and ive ordered it in blue!maybe theyve got lots of 25L ones ready to send out!

it says on the website please allow 7 working days for delivery of trollies and i ordered it late on thursday night so hopefully itll be here by the end of the week! :D :D

i dont see the point in just getting a 25L one as you ll be filling it up all the time!50L should last me roughly an hour before needing to be filled again after first cleans are out of the way! ;) ;D ;D

Well done, Daz, I look forward to reading your posts detailing your experience.

Good luck, mate and remember you may find it slower and a bit frustrating to begin with, but you'll get so quick you won't believe it; but that'll take a bit of time.

Easy does it!

thanks tosh!ive already cleaned most of the top frames etc trad.

itll take me a bit of time to learn the best way of approaching each job  etc but i think ill soon get the hang of it.

i think i need to be patient with the hose and make sure im avoiding splashing the top frame and walls while rinsing the window!! ;) :) :)

been using all that for years stan as ive fell off a few times and i work on my own!

but when i get my trolley itll just be the modern version of a window cleaning cart! ;) :D :D

........with the odd bit of ladder work here and there(probably less than 10% :D :D :D)
