is anyone using merlin RO.if so how are they rated what would life span be for pre filter and membranes.and cost of replacement filter and membranes

im using a merlin and its performing ok so far but my water pressure isnt quite good enough for what the merlin should be running,im goin to bet a booster pump soon,as for the filter membrane life span i think it depends on your water tds reading and how much water you are going to be producing, most suppliers stock the membranes like www.reachandclean.co.uk,Gaz.

I have been using one now for a couple of months. Not too impressed with it. Leaks all over on the first one we got. Second one not much better. Gets no where near the PPM's promised. All in all a bad purchase

we have been supplying these merlin units to customers for a while now.
as long as you have a reasonable tap pressure then the merlin should perform fine (certainly without leaks).
these are designed to run just off the tap pressure......but you have to have the correct pressure, otherwise you will get a high TDS readout.
there are some booster pumps on the market to improve this, so if a high TDS reading is being given then this is a route worth going down.
they do produce water ALOT faster than the usuall smaller RO units, almost as fast as the 40-40 ROs but alot cheaper to buy.
as for filters its worthwhile fitting an extra prefilter to work along with the merlins carbon prefilter. (this will protect the merlin prefilter, plus they are only a couple of pounds to replace as opposed to £15-£20 for the merlin filter).
hope this helps, Gary.
